Just reinstalled GSX with latest installer from your site, but still have same problem.
I noticed in Addon manager folder, couatl and couatle 64 P3D have blue-yellow shield on icon, maybe is there problem ?
I know, this shield is for run as administrator option, i try unchecked run as admin but same problem, couatl disapper after loading sim at any airport

edit:
now i have another log file

Similar problem here after latest update. P3Dv5.3HF2. Couatl64.exe fails to load.

To try to get GSX / Couatl working again I deleted the whole Addon Manager folder and restored an earlier one from a backup.

P3D loads, Couatl runs the regenerating airport data and then it stops. Looking in the Add-On menu there's no sign of Couatl and I get the same error in Event Manager.

Whilst I appreciate the continued support for P3D the fact that it's extremely difficult to restore to an earlier working version is extremely frustrating.

Is there no way such a system can be implemented? An early resolution to this would be appreciated.

ALL FSDT airports are now hidden because Couatl64.exe crashes. Totally unacceptable.

@virtuali, I see your last login was pmLast Active: February 14, 2025, 10:09:54 pm

That doesn’t bode well for getting this serious problem resolved. This is the support forum. If you’re unwell I can understand.

Similar procedure and similar result here, so, this not isolated case, there is problem with GSX.

Thanks for confirming.  :) Everything has been stable for ages. Nothing has changed in my setup. The only thing that has is this update. Once it’s resolved I’ll probably not update again.

I've discovered the problem. The only change to my P3D data was Herve Sors corrected BGLs for AIRAC 2502R1.

I uninstalled them and launched P3D. It completed the regeneration of GSX indexes without issue.

Anyone else using Herve's data might want to do the same. I'll install each continent until I find the troublesome one.

Uninstall Far East. That contains a bad BGL. I'll contact Herve.

@virtuali, having discovered the problem lay with a bad BGL rather than your software can I make a suggestion please.

In the log there’s no mention of the corrupt BGL that caused the regeneration to crash thereby bringing down couatl64.exe. There’s just a mention of a file that is empty.

Would it be possible for you to identify the bad file thereby saving users from a lot of work in trying to find where the problem is?

It was only by searching for that empty file in Google I came across the same problem and the user was also using Herve Sors replacement BGLs.

Still took me two hours to find and fix things which hopefully will help the OP of this topic.

Thank you for confirming the problem wasn't GSX.

There's no quick way to fix this and, since we are not using the airport cache method anymore in MSFS 2020/2024, we are not planning to work on fixing something that is caused by corrupted 3rd party files, because we barely have time to keep FSX/P3D supported, let alone working on fixing issues caused by bad data coming from the  outside.

Understood. It adds to my knowledge of what the problem might be should it happen again.

Sorry for posting “where is support”. I only come here when I have problems. Not discord or other options. Not seeing you active on the forum for over a week was disconcerting. Hopefully Herve will correct the bad BGL. His data is usually very good.

I’ve heard back from Herve. There are 33 files different from 2501 in 2502 for the Far East.

He’s going to check but has also described how I can do it myself. I’ll work on this tomorrow.

Herve sent me some files and I discovered the problem one. He's now fixed things and a revised 2502 AIRAC cycle is available on his site.  :)

@ETOPS-180, what’s your last post got to do with Couatl64.exe crashing?

Wrong topic.

Since my questions have not been replied to by FSDT, I saw him in your post and wanted to try to contact him. I apologize for the inconvenience.[/quote]

Exactly, as I told you in another post, replying to unrelated things in a thread will only make the forum harder to follow for everybody. Including me, which won't make finding pending issues any easier. In fact, it's the opposite.

I'm using the same version of P3D (5.4.9.28482) but without the Herve Sors navi-aid. I'm experiencing the same problem with the couatl engine where it seems to load correctly but then disappear from the addon menu. The problem occurs at any airport that I chose, and I noticed that when I chose to use GSX Level 2 jetway at PHNL (also by FSDT), the jetways doesn't appear. I have used the same scenery before in P3D V4.5 with GSX and it worked perfectly fine. I've reinstalled GSX more than 10 times now and the P3D client 2 times to add on that. The issue still persists, I'm attaching a log file (The system language is not in English).

That's the problem, your audio drivers contains non-Western characters in their names.

Unless you have a way to fix this, by installing a version of driver that has a different name with western alphabet characters, you must wait for our upcoming update that will move the whole GSX code from to Python 2 to Python 3, so we should fix all the various issue happening with non-western characters, since the whole program will then fully Unicode.
