Title: GSX Pro is not in my drop down menu in msfs 2024.
Post by: andamillionbucks on February 06, 2025, 11:15:16 pm
Also the coutl shortcut icon says it can't find the file and only asks me if i want to delete it. And on your installer the install button never goes out.The activate button works because it says it' activated

Surely because your antivirus has mistakenly removed it.

Configure the antivirus to add the whole "Addon Manager" folder to the antivirus EXCLUSIONS, then run the FSDT Installer again, and be sure the Installation completes, so the "Install" button becomes "Installed" in green, which is what always normally happens when nothing external interfere.

Okay I tried that, sort of. I disabled my anti virus (windows defender) and went to the fsdt installer now it says it's installed. And the couatl shortcut when i click on file location it shows a location but it doesn't do anything. there are 4 couatl apps in the folder. couatl64_boot which is only 29kb and still has that no icon icon, couatl64_msfs which is 8,231 kb in size and has an icon, couatl64_msfs2024 and is 8,375 kb and has an icon, and couatl64_p3d which is 8,234kb in size and has an icon but i never pressed because i don't have p3d. I did press the others and nothing happened. Also GSX does appear in my dropdown menu now but when I click on that it just spins and nothing happens

Well not so fast. gsx would put me at a gate that i asked for but then the rest of the stuff never came up (like fuel, baggage, etc.) so i went to uninstall gsx and then follow your install instructions you suggested and now i am back in the same boat. The fsdt installer has the install light on and when i click it the download and install screen just sits there at 0% and there is no way out of that screen

Nowhere I ever said to "disable" your antivirus. I said to be sure the whole Addon Manager is added to the Antivirus EXCLUSIONS and no, "disabling" is not the same thing. So, again, please follow my instructions to the letter and do it again.

And yes, it's perfectly normal you'll have all 4 versions of the Couatl engine (FSX, P3D, MSFS and MSFS 2024), they are always installed, but only the correct one is used in either simulator, and you are not supposed to start it yourself.

It's where you installed it. To add it to exclusions if you're using Windows, you go to Windows security, then under "Virus & threat protection settings", click Manage settings. Scroll down, and you'll see Exclusions. Click Add or remove exclusions.

thank you but I found it. The folder is in C:program files (x86) addon manager. And that folder is excluded. However when i click on fsdt installer then click on install it switches screens to the download/install screen the download/install screen just sits there at 0% and there is no way out of that screen.Task Manager doesn't even list it as running. So the only way out is to reboot my PC. Why won't the install button on the installer not do anything? It just hangs with the mouse icon just spinning

It's possible the problem is at your router.

Some internet routers have security software included ( usually made by Trend Micro ), so they might have mistakenly banned our domain because their flawed heuristic has detected a threat. Trend Micro is the worse offender when false positives are concerned, and it's also used in some Asus routers.

If you have such software in the router, be sure our domains ( fsdreamtream.com and virtualisoftware.com ) are not blocked.

It states in the contacts section to use the forum or to email someone for some problems but it never says who to email

Of course it says that. There's a link called email, which if you click it will open your email program with the email address already filled in.
