We'll try to keep this post updated with the latest informations:
1) Please do not report issues about Jetways, GSX has NO effect on Jetways, nothing bad happening with jetways has ANYTHING to do with GSX. There are some differences in the way jetways work in 2024, so they require the airport developer an update.
Of course, as of now, ALL FSDT airports has been updated to fix all jetways issues caused by differences between MSFS 2024 and 2020.
This couldn't possibly be tested with the Alpha, since it only included the DA-62 and an Helicopter. Nobody outside Microsoft ever seen the new planes, let alone how they would work when streamed. The main issue is, the airplane is not installed in a normal way and the airplane root folder reported by Simconnect doesn't contain the whole airplane, just the minimal set of files needed to show it in the UI, the rest is streamed when starting a flight.
3) We are looking into new ways to detect the airplane used, so it would be possible for it to be identified by GSX and create a profile, this is of course something that is not affecting "just" GSX, because it affects repainters and modders in general, which are all asking clarifications from MS/Asobo in the MSFS developers forum.
A while ago, Microsoft showed the ability to to Download add-on packages instead of Streaming then, so it would stay on disk with all its files but, it seems this feature is not there yet, possibly related to the release of the updated Marketplace for MSFS 2024.
This means, for the time being, the only airplanes which can be used right now with GSX, are those in the Community folder.
4) For the same reason, it's best if you Disable ALL GSX replacement jetways in MSFS 2024, since the Navdata is not the same, so we need to update it. You can still use GSX Airport services.

So from what you have posted i should by able to add the FBW a320 into the community folder and GSX works if i load msfs 2024 with FBW a320 ?
MSFS 2024 won't load.
GSX only works for me if i load msfs 2024 STARTING ON A RUNWAY, NOT AT A GATE !
-
Hi There, I have just purchased MSFS 2024, after waiting for the issues to get better, and have got the installer set to MSFS 2024; I have the MSStore version; have clicked 'check' on your Installer and waited for GSX to reload.
I then go into MSFS2024 and when loading into the Fenix A320 I see it on the tool bar but when I click on it GSX Pro will not load. I got the window popping up and GSX going through its load sequence, gets to 100% but then I get a "failed to load GSX menu, please wait and it may appear later.
Unfortunately I wait and I get nothing.
Would love some help on how to rectify this issue.
-
Same issue for me, I have tried everything possible.
Only things missing is moving to a new house and divorcing my wife but that is not even an option.
It doesn't matter I do, solution is not anywhere close.
Plus the manual, a bit outdated I think 🤔...
-
The manual is not outdated, and the chapter at Page 97 explains all possible reasons for the menu stuck on loading and all the known solutions that are all confirmed to work.
-
In MSFS2020 GSX works alright, but in MSFS2024 there are several issues.
Pushback is not reliable, because sometimes the pushback procedure is not working until the end and the menu switches to the menu option as i where at the end of a flight.
Sometimes there is no connection with simbrief at the start of a flight.

Just so I'm clear (bought GSX just prior to msfs2024), it's normal to have GSX disable global jetway replacement for BOTH 2020 and 2024 when installing into MSFS 2024? And is that an issue that's currently being addressed? I kinda miss my jetway logos etc . . .

There was a message in the installer about that (alerting jetways will be disabled in both sims), and it's there precisely so you'll know it's normal.

Hi Umberto, for Fenix FS2Crew voice integration (requesting vocally pushback etc.) not working inn 2024, is it an issue for which I should contact FS2Crew or you may intervene? Thanks and buon 2025!

We haven't changed anything in the way GSX is controlled in MSFS 2024, if we did, other integrations that works just fine in 2024, like the Fenix one, would stop working too.

Good afternoon, I have disabled the airport walkways but the GSX also appears to me that it is loading and it stays that way, neither with the default planes nor with the Fenix or FBW

There's no need to do that manually, because they will be disabled automatically if you use MSFS 2024. The message only comes if you have *both* MSFS 2020 and 2024 installed, just to alert that disabling in 2024 will affect 2020 but, if you only have 2024 installed, you won't see any warning, but BOTH Jetways AND Airport Services will be automatically disabled.
I can only confirm that, when both replacement Jetways and Airport Services are Disabled (and they will be, automatically), there are no issues of loading, which instead will happen if you don't disable both. Again, the will be automatically disabled by the installer unless, of course, you both have 2020 and 2024, you saw the warning message an decided not to disable.

You wrote that due to the way packages are Streamed in the sim, it's not currently possible to create a GSX Profile for any of the new MSFS 2024 airplanes.
So how is possible that this profile works ( and it works ) flawless ?
Just to understand.

Has anyone got a fix for the flightbeam NZAA jetways not moving? Jetways work in 2020 but not in 2024 for NZAA. I got the scenery from fligtbeam. All other flightbeam scenery I have are working.

That was the state on release day, there has been many updates in between that fixed this. The sticky post has been updated now.

Hi all i am stuck with this, MSFS2020 works fine with no issues, I cannot get it to work on 2024, no matter what airport or plane i try. I have read the manual and tried recommendations but cannot find a solution to get this to work at all. I hope someone can help! Thank you!

I have installed FS2024 but I don't find the GSX icon in upper menu .... how I have to install GSX ?? ... perhaps I have not done in a correct way.
Thanks and regards

I have installed FS2024 but I don't find the GSX icon in upper menu
Does the FSDT Installer reports it as "Installed" in green ?
-
same issue as already mentioned: Just had to reinstall MSFS2024 and could not get the GSX icon to appear in the toolbar. Did a complete uninstall of GSX to bare bones. Then reinstalled from scratch, downloading everything. Still no icon in the toolbar. It was working previously, before I had to completely re-do MSFS2024. Any idea what I might be doing wrong, or where I should check to get the icon back?
Thanks
-
I have updated to the latest release and uninstalled then reinstalled everything all is green but 2024 Steam still will not show in the tool bar. So, 2024 Steam is not reading GSX for some reason.
-
A few updates back my GSX stopped working on FS 2024. I have scoured the forums and reddit trying to find a fix but nothing. Figured I would wait for an update or two. Just updated GSX again and it is still not loading in FS 2024. I click on the GSX tab at the top and it runs for a second spinning and saying "loading GSX menu" then says "failed to load". Umberto, what is the fix for this?
-
With MSFS2020 and also MSFS2024 I can't use the GSX because it stays busy forever. Am I missing something?

This is happening to all of us, per several discords. in 2024, on SU2 beta at least, it just spins, no matter how many times you restart couatl.

Also, the MSFS2020 has the same behavior.

I have this screen showing emptied airports ICAO in MSFS2024. Maybe that's the reason why GSX keeps opening the Menu forever. The MSFS2020 sometimes works as intended.

Nothing that has anything to do with it, completely normal and intended, as already explained here, which also covers the menu stuck on Loading

I'm sorry but, both 2024 and 2020 works 100% of the time here, and I start MSFS and GSX like hundreds of time per day.

Hi, Since upgrading my motherboard & processor and reactivating/reinstalling GSX, I'm also experiencing empty lists for both Jetway replacement and Airport services in the Config screen. I've tried a complete uninstall, and reinstall of GSX and the FSDT Installer several times, but still have empty lists.
Is this normal, as the link that was posted above doesn't work as I get the following error message:
An Error Has Occurred!
The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.
Many thanks!
Mark.

Yes, it is normal. It should be repaired but nothing hurts yet.

I think I've found the formula to get the GSX Ground Services to display its menu correctly, without any hesitation or consistent attempts to stabilize itself, and to make it available to us as we all expect, allowing us to enjoy the benefits the GSX offers. The only problem is that we're waiting for an update, considering my experience and that of everyone else waiting for a solution.
My formula is simple: remove all folders associated with GSX from the Community folder. Then, open the FSDT GSX Library and activate the LINK.
That's it. Now it's time for the FSDT to take action, including the formula I discovered. That is, instead of removing the aforementioned folders and activating the LINK, I think the GSX Installer program should do this automatically, so we wouldn't have to waste time making homemade fixes. These are my two cents of collaboration. Case closed, and comments are welcome. Thanks.

You mean your issue was JUST because the two GSX packages were real folders instead of links ? If this was what happened, it's clear why you are having problems, and this issue is very well known since a long while, see here:

Now, this is not usually explained as a first troubleshooting step, because you are not normally supposed to end up with real folders instead of Symbolic links, that's surely not how GSX is installed.
Now, WHY you had real folders instead of links ? There are only two possible reasons for this:
1) If you manually copied the packages in the Community folder, maybe a while ago, maybe trying to "fix" something yourself. I'm sorry but, if you did this, it's all on you.
There are reasons why GSX is installed that way, not only the obvious benefits due to not having to reinstall it if you lose your Community folder or you reinstall the sim clean ( you just RELINK GSX ) or the big space saving if you have both MSFS 2020 and 2024 installed: GSX is installed only once, you only have links in the two Community folders. But those are not even the most important things: the main issue is, if you have a real folder, in the Community folder, the simulator will be stuck with it forever, because the FSDT Update doesn't even touch the Community folder, all that it does, is updating the one single copy in Addon Manager\MSFS, relying on the fact the simulator will use it because it's LINKED to the Community. If you have a real folder in the Community, that's what the simulator will see, so it would be stuck forever with an outdated version, and that includes the code of the menu *itself*, let alone all objects added with updates that GSX *thinks* are available (because they are in the Addon Manager folder), but they aren't in the sim, causing errors when they are called.
2) Before anybody would start the I'm always saying it's the "user's fault" (I'm not), there's another possible reason why you might have ended with real folders instead of links, and it's using a BACKUP SOFTWARE.
This is very easy to miss: not all backup software have the same behavior when Symbolic links are concerned: some might "follow the link" that is making new copies of the files linked which will result in the creation of real folders on restore, some might have an OPTION in the backup that might be enabled or not, to indicate how to handle Symbolic links and that option should be to copy links "as they are", meaning if a folder is a link, only the link should be backed up as a link (not the files inside) and when restoring, only the link should be restored as a link.
The issues is, since many users use External USB drives as backups and those are usually formatted in ExFat and Symbolic links are only supported on NTFS, UNLESS you do your backup on an external disk formatted in NTFS AND your backup software has been configured (assuming it supports that option) to leave Links untouched, you WILL end up in the situation than, when restoring the Community folder from a backup, all your links would be transformed into real folders, which might not be apparent immediately, since GSX would kind "work" (assuming the backup wasn't too old), but it would surely have issues, because the GSX code would act on its own local copy, but the simulator will see a different copy of the packages.
Now it's time for the FSDT to take action, including the formula I discovered. That is, instead of removing the aforementioned folders and activating the LINK, I think the GSX Installer program should do this automatically, so we wouldn't have to waste time making homemade fixes
OF COURSE the installer is programmed to do that: if it finds a real folder during an update, it should remove it and recreate the link automatically. However, creating/removing Symbolic links requires Administrator permissions, since they are not normal folders, so I think this function might have failed in your case. I'll try do some extra testing on it, for sure, but since the problem was known for a while, of course the installer was equipped to deal with it.
But now I'll check it again, because apparently the installer couldn't do it so, at the very least, we should be able to ALERT you of the problem, so you can remove the real folders manually.
-
Umberto, I appreciate so much your professional explanation very useful for all GSX community thread and for I as well. Regarding on your questions about real folders or linked my pics speak themselves. The way how they look is as always, I had. So, I never had real GSX folders in Community folders.

is this download issue also the reason for the lack of SEATED passengers in MSFS2024?
-
is this download issue also the reason for the lack of SEATED passengers in MSFS2024?
I think it is related with the aircraft configuration, not sure. I have the same pax in cabin issues with PMDG, iFly, IniBuilds, Fenix, basically with all. I will give a try later to find out if I am lucky (lol).

Regarding on your questions about real folders or linked my pics speak themselves. The way how they look is as always, I had.
I based my reply on your report:
My formula is simple: remove all folders associated with GSX from the Community folder. Then, open the FSDT GSX Library and activate the LINK.
The ONLY possible reason why that solution worked, is that you had real folders. I'm sure you'll realize that, removing links that were already links, and recreating the links again, cannot possibly have made any difference, because if they were already links, there would have been always linked to the SAME files.

I should admit my error not to look at the Community folder to find if GSX folders were linked or real ones. Umberto, I apologize about.
But at least I found the solution myself and it worked. Probably GSX folders were real ones, I assume there were, indeed.

In MSFS2024, I'm having trouble with GSX at my arrival airport. I reinstalled GSX entirely for use on MSFS2024.
Departure (in the Fenix) works fine. My passengers load, are seated etc, and pushback works as expected.
Upon arrival at my destination, if I open GSX the menu window still shows the, "Confirm good engine start" option (as well as everything else from that state) from during pushback. Nothing I do seems to refresh that view, and even clicking on the "Restart Couatl" option doesn't do anything.
Have others had this issue and know of a solution?
Thanks!

@Mandeville
I have the same Issue.....
GSX does not seem to realize that I have already flown and landed at the destination airport.....

I suggest trying the beta version.
