Hi,
I am getting a Failed to load GSX Menu message. Its indicating: Please wait, it might appear later message. I let it do its thing and after 1 hour it still hadnt loaded. Havent had this message before. I ran a live update earlier today.

It happened to me with the 777 from PMDG because parking brake is not set to ON when you start the simulator. Then GSX would work after that. Quite unsure about which aircraft you were using by judging to your picture.

I will give that a go, setting the park brake. Its the MD-11. Didn't work unfortunately

Try restarting Couatl from the taskbar notification area, most of the time it's enough, you don't need the parking brake if the chocks are in place.

I did those multiple times, but they yielded no results. In the end, I did an uninstall, restart then fresh install and it worked. I don't the why's or the how, but it seems okay now. Thanks for your suggestions.

I have the GSX Main Menu Issue, failed to load etc. etc.
How to fix?

EDIT: I removed GSX items from \Community folder and launched FSDT Installer to Relink. Fixed!

am getting the same thing on msfs2024 GSX fails to load

Same problem here, since installing &%@^% 2024 .
Restarted from taskbar multiple times. reinstalled in both 2024 and 2020 stores.
logs attached.
It *is* doing something as I got voice comments like "need to set parking brake before requesting services" on initial load of the session (before seeing anything substantive)

Your log shows GSX doesn't have any errors, it just quit cleanly, with this message:
disconnected from SimConnect.
Assuming it wasn't you who quit the sim (in that case it's normal you'll see that message), it seems the sim just disconnected.

I actually killed the couatl process from the taskbar as the menu wasn't loading.
I was wondering about this stuff in couatl64_boot.log:

You shouldn't do that. As the manual suggest, use Restart from the traybar menu or exit, if you want to exit.

Fair enough Umberto, but the fact remains that I still have a "Failed to load GSX Menu" - what would you suggest? I restarted couatl from the taskbar a few times over the past long while.
The reason I terminated coatl previously is so I could get *something* done in '24 without the main menu load screaming at me repeatedly... :/

BTW - the issue is limited to '24 as '20 loads fine

The manual has a whole chapter dedicated about all possible reasons and known solutions for the menu failing to load, Page 97, so be sure you check them all.

Umberto - thanks for pointing out the manual page for the debugging.
I've updated to latest ver.
The issue persists:
- only in '24
- simobjects kept to a minimum (no extra clutter)
- Navdata issue? maybe, because of '24 differences?
- restarted couatl from toolbar after several minutes' menu load wait. No change in behaviour.
- couatl engine crash? no. it's active.
Sesssion (flight ) ended by terminating flight. MSFS '24 kept running, then exited normally to close the logging..
All logs and .INIs attached. couatl64_boot.log contains entries I find suspect, for your consideration:
2024-11-22 12:21:47: Process Couatl64_MSFS2024 started successfully with ID 51176
2024-11-22 12:21:47: Error obtaining processname: Access is denied
2024-11-22 12:21:48: Connected to Couatl64 shared memory
2024-11-22 12:22:02: Error obtaining processname: Access is denied

That doesn't look good to my amateur's eyes...
Comparing this from '24 versus a successful start in '20, the difference is the "error obtaining processname: access is denied"

Sounds like antivirus. Or the simulator itself might not be closed completely.

Please keep in mind that GSX in MSFS 2020 is working perfectly well in all respects.
GSX in MSFS24 seems to be working in the background as it will "complain" about the parking being isolated or the parking spot being too small for my aircraft. There seems to be some degree of GSX looping happening due to some stutters
It's only the menu loading that's not working (in '24)
- Antivirus? I'm using Defender. No 3rd party. No issues with anything.
- Sim not be closed completely? .. sorry, I don't understand that line of thinking, as the issue is no menu load - not a shutdown issue. Also, PC has been rebooted many times in various sequences. No change.
Any other logs or monitoring I could be doing to help debug?
I've considered un and re-installing MSFS 2024.

Here's what fixed it for me. Open FSDT Installer. Use drop-down box on left to select your MSFS 2024 version, '2024 MS Store' in my case. You should see your Community Folder path at the bottom. To the right of GSX Pro select 'Check'. Any missing/corrupt files will get downloaded/installed.

I clicked the link for the live update on the home page and let it run. Then I ran the installer.
It downloaded a lot of files. Bottom line, its working.
Update:
I will share what worked for me barring any other s/w or h/w issues other users may have.
My last post was BEFORE MS did the latest update. After the update GSX did not work in 2024.
In addition before the update I had moved my Community folder to another HD and set that up
in 2024.
My steps:
1. Find and have my GSX Pro license available.
2. In the FSDT installer under the Release Notes, set to '2024 MS Store'
(I am using a PC. I don't know about Steam or Xbox setup)
Wait until your current valid directory to your 2024 Community folder is located.
and shown at the bottom of the screen. If not, you must resolve that issue before
installing for 2024.*
3. De-activated GSX Pro and any airports you have for 2024**
4. Rebooted.
5. In FSDT, go back to the 2024 store. Confirm the correct Community folder path.
6. 'Relink' should be available if 2020 was installed.
Relink GSX Pro and any airports you have that work in 20224.
7. I also went into 'config' and clicked and re-clicked the few planes installed.
Returned to MSFS 2024 and GSX is working again.
What I observed:
*I can only guess where GSX gets the Community location from so be sure the
correct path is specified.
**The GSX files originally in the 2024 Community folder were not linked.
If the small arrow is not shown at the directory, GSX won't work. When
I tried to de-activate GSX with the 2024 MS Store a dialog box popped up
telling me it was unable to delete the directories for GSX. I was monitoring
the Community folder contents at the time, so I deleted them manually, GSX Pro
and all the related directories including the airports. That enabled the
de-activation to complete and was when the 'ReLink' buttons appeared.
Now all GSX related folders show the link indicator.

Antivirus? : I don't think so. It's only affecting the menu load and only in '24. No 3rd party virus software running (using Defender). There is some GSX pro stuff going on in the background...
Shut down properly? : I don't see how that would apply, as the (24) sim is running.
Newer info: My Fenix A320 became available in 2024 so I installed and ran it. The automatic processes that it would call (bypassing the menu? or calling menu silently which makes more sense?) don't operate.
Is there any more debugging I could do to help troubleshoot? I've used GSX "check" and installed a few version updates since this issue started. I'm thinking of doing a fresh install of 2024 if you think that might help...

Hi There, I have the same issues as everyone above. I got the window popping up and GSX going through its load sequence, gets to 100% but then I get a "failed to load GSX menu, please wait and it may appear later.

Same problem here.... Yersterday in the evening i used the CHECK function of the installer. After that it works. Today after restart PC and MSFS24 i have the same problem... MSFS20 works ok.
Newest version, restartet it several times.

Yes, but there is no explanation why it is working after CHECK and it dont work after restarting the PC and run MSFS24 with the same settings as before.

If everything is in there in this so called uber manual, I wonder why so many threads appear in here dealing with exact this question? In my case, as a loooong time GSX user I have to say that I do not have many sim addons that are so incredibly cumbersome to maintain, be it because it refrains to work, needs an update via internet instead of updater, needs re-linking, adjusting, configuring, modifying and and and. Rarely I fire up my sim and GSX just works. Rarely. As of now, I am also plagued (once again) by the fact that sometimes (not always), it simply does not start. Restart couatl three times and it suddenly works. Sometimes. Sometimes it does not. Endless story.
GSX Pro is like a Diva, treat it right in very, very limited margins of error and it works, do just one little thing wrong (sometimes without being able to KNOW what is wrong) and it does simply not work at first try.
But I would still not miss it. Never. It is such an immersion booster.
