I have downloaded the new Universal Installer but I do not have the addon Manager added nor can I get any airport for FSX to appear. They show in my Scenery Library but do not appear in the simulator.
-
The universal installer can only install products for MSFS. In FSX/P3D, it can only keep them updated or handle the activation, but the actual install is always made using their normal installers.
-
So I can get rid of the universal installer until I get MSFS.
-
I am still not able to get my airports to show up. I have activated them, but nothing shows except the game version of the airport.
-
And I do not have the addon manager to add them to the simulator when the sim is active.
-
So your sim is FSX and your operating system is win10? Do you have any airports from FSDT downloaded or are you only trying to run the FSX airports?
-
I have KDFW, KLAX, KLAS, and PHNL. None of them show up.
-
Do you have the activation codes for those airports.
Do you have the Add on Manager, or just don't see it. I can't figure out how you downloaded those airports and don't have the add on manager.
If you don't have those airports activated, you should see s FSX default airport when you open the sim.
-
The addon manager is not showing when I have loaded the game. I have my activations codes for each airport.
-
As you can see, no airport. Just gates.

How far do you get when you open FSX sim.
Can you see ''Home'' and then ''Free Flight'' on the first menu. If so, then click on Free Flight.
What operating system are you using.
What happens when you run Live Update.
-
I am able to start any flight I link. I am using Windows 10. It is just when I start a flight, I do not have the addon manager at the top of the screen. Live update run and goes through its process.
-
I have the same setup that you do and I have tried to simulate the same problems that you have. Except, I have the Add on Manager, not the Universal Installer, and everything works fine for me.
I have a feeling that when you removed the Universal Installer something got undone with your sim.
I have only one suggestion left, if that was my computer, I would give some thought to going back to basics and uninstalling all of the FSDT products using windows control panel and re-installing them to see if that fixes things for you. Uninstall all the currently installed products AND ( important ) reply YES to the question "Do you want to remove the Addon Manager ?"
The Universal Installer replaces the Addon Manager on a new install so it should work for you and get your airports back. Just make sure you have a copy of the activation codes if you decide to uninstall and re-install.
If your not 100% sure about it, then ask for a second opinion. I had to do that awhile back to fix a few problems and it worked well for me.

The installer message you highlighted is quite clear: you have the original unpatched FSX, while all our products require either FSX+SP2 or FSX+Acceleration, or FSX:Steam version.
-
Where can I find SP2?

Thank you

I cannot get SP2 to work because it says SP1 is not added, yet, I have added SP1. Also, all my aircraft are blacked out and I still cannot get PHNL to load and I have no Addon manager on my simulator.
-
This is what I am referring to.
-
Let me make a suggestion here. Instead of all the aggravation you're going through, Delete your copy of FSX and buy a copy of FSX Steam Edition. It comes with all of the upgrades and works great with GSX and all FSDT products. Check it out, because it goes on sale sometimes.

I am unable to remove FSX and FSX SDK from my computer
-
Are you using the uninstall feature in control panel on your computer to delete FSX. It should be listed as Microsoft Flight Simulator. If you have the FSX disks, you can use them to uninstall FSX.
If you're familiar with using DOS commands to delete FSX, you can try that also. Or as a last resort you can take your computer to a computer repair shop and have them remove FSX, but they will want to charge you an arm and a leg for doing it.
Or, you can install FSX SE as a separate program on your C drive and it will work, they use totally different registry entries.. Just remember to use the Steam icon on your desktop to open FSX SE.
Good luck.

I was finally able to get FSX and FSX SDK removed from my computer sometime around 2:00am this morning (my time). I had to repair FSX and then I could get that one off. I reinstalled FSX and SDK and everything seems to be working now.

Now I just need to get my AI Aircraft in my flight plans to show up.
