Anyone know what software all these ppl are using to record and put FSX videos on youtube of their various flights etc? Ive tried a couple of different windows capture softwares but they were horrible lol... is there some way in microsoft movie maker to record "what you see"? idk any help appreciated ty.

The most popular video recording software is fraps, and personally, that is what I use to record all of my videos
-
I use fraps as well. I also have hypercam but have'nt used very much because of quailty issues.
-
I've heard the hypercam isn't very good. your safest bet would be fraps, which is free
-
ok thanks, and with fraps I should be able to get decent frame rates? the other video capture software that I have tried has only given me 1 - 2 FPS in FSX and isnt really viable.
-
fraps does take away frames unfortunately. I typically lose 3-5 fps when recording my videos. It all depends on how good your system is. If you are getting low frames, either update your computer or lower your settings

Fraps has a 30 second time limit on the demo version, but it is NOT free.
-
Fraps is well worth the price you pay for and updates. :)

personally, the demo is fine. Unless you are planning on doing prolonged 2 minute shots, stick with the demo, the full version costs like 40 bucks
