Title: J.R's Carrier Landing Gauge broken?
Post by: Razgriz on April 20, 2010, 01:54:49 am
I THINK the wire is correct, but I'm not sure.  Only broken in the VRS.

that gauge works in VRS?  If it does, how do you install?

Put the PLAT Camera and Carrier Landing Gauge CAB into the Panel/FA18E folder

Panel.cfg entries:

[Window Titles]
Window00=HUD View
window01=EVENTS
Window02=PLAT Camera
Window03=Carrier Landing Gauge

//-------------------PLAT Camera----------------------
[Window02]
size_mm=1024
window_pos=0.000, 0.000
window_size= 1.000, 1.000
background_color=0,0,0
visible=0
ident=10070
gauge00=../Panel/FA18E\PLAT_Camera!PLAT_Camera.xml, 0, 0, 1024, 1024

//-------------Carrier Landing Gauge------------------
[Window03]
size_mm=1024
window_pos=0.000, 0.000
window_size= 1.000, 1.000
background_color=0,0,0
visible=0
ident=10040

gauge00=../Panel/FA18E\Carrier_Landing_Gauge!Carrier_Landing_Gauge.xml, 0, 0, 1024, 1024

SORRY, MISSED IT.

Where is this gauge for download, please?  It looks like a modification of Skippy Bing's gauge.

You're correct, it is a modification to Skippy Bing's gauge, and due to that, I don't believe Jivko has uploaded it yet.  Last I heard, JR asked, or was going to ask Skippy for permission to redistribute.

I hope the TACAN/ILS is fixed by SP1. I must admit that they didn't do a bad job with timing on the ACM update.

It hasn't been tested in the Superbug, only in the Acceleration Hornet and Dino's aircraft. Until I get the VRS, I can't say what's wrong and why.

Thanks, Orion.  I've been using Bing's original for a long time, since it was released and then his 2nd improved release.  I think this modification makes it transparent and adds alpha(?), not sure of the symbol's meaning.

Perhaps the gauge could be added to the new panel as the opening of the fuel probe was thus saving a keystroke procedure or even be part of panel.  Total weight display may be possible, too?  Landing force?

Wild guesses on my part.

Never saw this guage before.  Where can I download it?  I have found a link anywhere in this thread unless I'm blind and a Google search turns nothing up.
