Do I need to remove the default KORD scenery?

The default, no.

But it's likely best to remove the handcrafted version included in the Premium versions of MSFS. We placed all the exclusions correctly so, there shouldn't be any issues but, as a general rule, it's best to not to have a scenery at all, then rely on another scenery to exclude it, it's even more efficient from a startup time/memory point of view.
