Hi, I am using GSX since many years and still have this problem, which I want to solve finally:
I have a 5 monitor systems with P3D V4.5 and FSL A320.
On my 2 front monitors is the main window of P3D running with 2D panels of the bus.
Now when I start GSX by clicking Sh-Ctr-F12 to start GSX Menu, the SimConnectWindow disappears behind my 2D cockpit panel.
So, I always have to move the panel away and undock the GSX windows and move it in a viewable area. Unfortunately this undocked window is not lockable.
How can I solve this hide-and-seek game . Please help.
regards
Alhard

This has been discussed many times on the forum, for example here:

What you are looking at, is not the "GSX menu", it's the standard Simconnect menu, which is shared by all apps with a menu so, it's not specifically related to GSX in any way, and we don't have any control over that window, its positioning, its size or its order in relationship to other panels.

Thanks Umberto for clarification,
that means for me: GSX is NOT usable ! Sorry.

No, it doesn't mean that, it means that each and every add-on that also use a Simconnect menu ( SODE, FSPassengers, ActiveSky and countless of others I don't remember now ), will have exactly the same problem and, of course, none of them can "fix it" either, because as I already explained, quite clearly, no application has ANY control of where that window appear, how it's sized and its priority over other panels.

Yes Umberto, you are right, GSX is NOT responsible for my issue.
But I found a solution now with the help of Daniel Saffran, Pero and J. Eberhardt

Solution:
Go into ...\"P3D root"\gauges\missionpanels.cfg. Modify the missionpanels.cfg with this addin:
look for the Section with
ident = SIMCONNECT_WINDOW
here in my configuration it is [Window12]
add here
zorder = 100
Determines the order of appearance of the panels on the screen. Takes values from 0 (bottom) to 100 (top).
Now the GSX window appears in front of the other panels !! Hurrah!!
I also changed the window size and position, referring to my panel windows:
window_size = 0.1, 0.25
window_pos = 0.6, 0.3 ; as a percentage of the screen
The best of this soluition is: I learned about the usage of missionpanels.cfg
Still open is: how to change the transparency?
