Question,  Where the heck is it? and if it has one how do you set it. Can't fly IFR without.

Press the IFF button on the Upfront Panel.

Dial the XPNDR code with the keypad

Press ENT

While we're on the topic of transponder, is there any way I can turn off the auto function that automatically inputs my transponder code? I'd like to put the code in myself, but the computer always beats me to it.

Change the transponder code before acknowledge it to ATC.
I like to change freqs by myself, too. I enjoyed it a lot in Flight Unlimited III, which had a more manual way of interacting with ATC
