I remember seeing a modification here a while ago and can't find it again. This was a pretty simple line that you added to the aircraft.cfg something along the lines of "arresting cable force multiplier" = x and that some people had been using a value that worked well for the default hornet (I think it was near 0.7).
Anyone remember what exactly this command line was?
Thanks.

In the Aircraft.cfg file of your aircraft, check if you have a [tailhook] section. If you don't have such section - add the two lines below, if you do - just change the setting:
[tailhook]
cable_force_adjust = 0.70
The default value (1.00) will stop the Hornet for about 2.4 seconds. The new setting (0.70) will increase that time to about 3.4 seconds, which is the time real Hornets take to come to a full stop on the carrier deck. This will also eliminate the nose hitting the deck. Put 0.80 for Dino's T-45.

Thanks for that info Neutrino. ;D I'll have to edit that value in the F/A-18.

That's the one I was looking for.
