Since the 737 wings are not "high" enough for GSX' animated fueltrucks, we "trick" GSX and move the fuel point further out to the wing, so it's higher. This way all animate fuel trucks (with the people moving the hoses etc.) work, also via the ground/hydrant refueling.
How to? Open the "customize airplane" menu in the GSX menu, click on "fuel" and enter the following measures: 14.36 -6.56 3.57. Click on "save".
(Keep in mind this will create a custom aircraft profile)
Tested with the 700 and 800.

Thanks a lot for this! Just tried it with the 700 and it worked like a charm! :)

I haven't tried that, but last evening there was already something implemented by the GSX team. The fuel truck did come to the end of the PMDG 737-800 wing and the digital fuel reading to increase as fuel was being pumped. There was no people animation which was lacking, but I believe that the GSX team posted that there will be a new fuel truck specially designed for the PMDG series with more detailed animation.

Hey folks. I didn't have to do any modifications whatsoever. A few minutes ago, I used the live updater and jumped into my PMDG 737-800 and requested fuel. The large tanker came and fit perfectly under the wing. The animation worked with the hose connection under the wing.
***Umberto, having said that, I did notice that the two hoses are a just a little lower than the wing and it's not making a flush connection. Can we pls have the hoses connect more precisely. Thank you much! I'm really loving GSX Pro! 👍***

Ill give the update one more try..I did enter those values and saved the planes settings, but the small fuel truck still sits on the side with an empty hose and a driver that refuses to get out apparently. Downloading the live update now and will try again
-
Yes, but the animated fuel crew guys are really nice as well as the running counter of filled fuel.
-
I added the numbers provided and saved the configuration for the 800, then I reloaded the position of the aircraft at the gate and requested fuel, the same avgas truck for general aviation shows up and does the same ritual unfortunately

Works well here besides i still need the PMDG fueltruck to attach before i can hit "start" fuel loading in the FMC.
So two fuel trucks on the side.
Thanks

No you don't need to attach the PMDG fueltruck at all. Call the GSX truck and when it arrived and tells you do set the fuel, just go into the FMC to the menu "fuel" on the LSK 1 or 2 I think (NOT ground services) and on LSK 1 set the fuel you want instantly. The GSX truck will now simulate refueling with the appropriate time, and no PMDG fuel truck will have to be seen.
Also just FYI: There's an option to "hide" certain PMDG ground services within the FMC, among them the fuel truck.

Thanks will try that. That goes also for payload/cargo i guess.
Thanks Michael Moe

Thanks Michael Moe
Payload/cargo is not being read by GSX, so you can set that whenever/however you want. GSX reads the pax from Simbrief to constitute the amount of pax and cargo it simulates loading.

Updated GSX before starting the sim this morning and checked the coordinates on the fuel location as described on this post (14.36 -6.56 3.57) and sure enough it was already set to these numbers. Called the fuel truck and again here came the general aviation fuel truck once again. This was on the 800

The numbers shown in the editor are only valid for the airplane sitting on its static_cg. If the *actual* fuel point location was lower than 3.40 because of the weight and the gears compression, the hydrant with a platform won't come.
-
Ok, so need to move the points a bit higher then to compensate for the added passengers, bags, fuel?

Yes, or move the point further outside on the wing.
-
What do the 3 values indicate? Which one is the number to move towards the end of wing?

First lateral, second longitudinal, third is height from ground, so you need to increase the first. But why you don't just do it in 3D ?

Yes Ill try the 3d first...good question

How about setting payload to empty before refueling? That's what I always do (as you usually refuel before boarding in GSX) and with the low weight / less gear compression my values always work out (i.e. animations are there). That's probably easier than trying to find a value that does look good AND works for every possible payload.

Going to give that a try right now and see

Ok, it worked this time. Did not add any passengers and luggage before fueling and the proper truck showed up with animations. Now to get the emergency exit doors to close when the beltloaders arrive is another topic, but for this issue it looks like its solved.

Interestingly I had that once (and no more) that the overwing exits opened when i started boarding with GSX. Since then like 10 flights on the 737-700 (and-800) and it happened no more. Now they always stay closed. I *think* it might have happened when I used the FOs (right side) FMC shortly after I started boarding, because GSX apparently literally clicks ont he LSKs to open the doors. Probably I switched the page and it clicked on the overwing exits instead on what it actually wanted to click on.
