hey folks whats up?
i finally started my very own f-18 model.
be warned, its for my short movie, not for fsx! in fact i dont really get why every day more and more companies do their own f-18 model when we have a brilliant package included in acceleration. i understand if they make an add on for fs 2004 or even fsx without expansion, but most of the f-18 add ons for fsx requires acceleration pack, so its kinda confusing
ok enough bullsh!t,
i have the humble project of doing the most detailed and close to real f-18 ever modeled. of course i wont be able to do that cuz im not that talented, but i want to get close, so i`ve been collecting information about the hornet, and now its time to reveal my bumblebee project!
i have just finished the base model, now its time to do the detailing. i really need critics on my model, from people who know the hornet, (so the model wont be like a tutorial i`ve seen once, where a guy called the missile mount a fake sidewinder for decorative purposes)
and theres no better place than here! i know a lot of people here are hardcore hornet enthusiasts, or even real world pilot, engineers, boeing chairmen, who knows lol, so if you dont mind sharing your knowledge, say what you think is bad or good on this model!
these pictures arent the best to illustrate my plane, poor ilumination, you cant really see the details, but ill update it soon

Fael...
Great job, looking good. Now, just time to add the details. I found this pic to use as a baseline for what you need to add, I highlighted the details that need to be added to your model in red. They are small sensor blisters, UHF/VHF aerials, very small pitot tubes, small vents (front of nosegear door), and the "air disruptors" (LEX fences) on the upper side of the Leading Edge Extension that disrupts the vertex airflow at an earlier point, so it doesnt damage the vertical tails.
Hope this helps.

nice bud, sure it helps! thanks a lot
keep the info coming :)

Looks great ! I am sure you are using exact drawings, but the nose looks very long... may be it's just the angle ???
-
thanks man! yea, its the angle, check my blueprints (old pics)
