If your problem is fixed after running the update, it's because either you configured FSX to run in a "Compatibility" mode, like XP or Vista or Windows 7 under Windows 10, etc, which shouldn't be done, since FSX runs just fine without those settings.
It's possible another add-on that is not completely compatible with the latest OS has forced the sim to enable Compatibility mode.
And, it's also possible that, if FSX crashed for any reason during the previous session, Windows might have set some Compatibility flags in the registry ( which you won't see in the Compatibility page of the .exe properties ), to "help" you fix the crash.
Running the FSDT Live Update will reset to settings to their correct defaults so, if you can run GSX after the updater, it's because one of the above.
-
I have Windows 10 and the GSX has always worked if you look in my records I have the GSX since the first and never had any problem. This problem was after the update until then it worked very well without problems. I don't understand ???

I've based my reply based on your report. If GSX works, but it stops on a subsequent session, and it's fixed again after running the updater, the only possible reason is one related to one of those compatibility settings which are reset to their correct values by the updater.
Of course, I assume your antivirus is not interfering and you have correctly configured it to exclude the whole Addon Manager folder. A common problem with antivirus is a program that has been just updated will be considered dangerous until it has gained enough "reputation" ( some antivirus use a reputation score ), that's why you must be sure it's not interfering with the download and the normal workings of the program.

Well yesterday 14th September I did the LiveUpd again, I have done four flights so far all ok, except for that flickering of the A320 panel lights when the aircraft is being loaded both luggage and passengers but otherwise ok

I did the last update four days ago and it stopped making the lights flicker, it has been going well, with a problem that I do not understand when I prepare a flight I start FSX it happens that sometimes GSX opens other times it does not even appear in the FSX menu I have to close everything and restart the PC what is going on?

Getting error message "The couatl scripting engine has encountered an unrecoverable error and will be restarted. Please run live update". I ran the update but continue to get the same error message. I am running FSX with scenery for LAX and DFW. Also run FS2Crew.

You are not getting "just" that message. You are also getting a question if you want to read the error log, which is what you are supposed to do when reporting a problem. Also, be sure you have Logging enabled in the Troubleshooting section of the FSX Settings, otherwise the error log might not be detailed enough to understand what your problem is.
After you enabled logging and get the error again, reply NO to the question if you want to restart ( otherwise the restart will clear the log with the error ), exit the sim, get Couatl.LOG file in %APPDATA%\Virtuali, ZIP IT and ATTACH it to a post.

I get the same result at any airport or aircraft used. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

Virtuali, I have just updated and opened FSX and nothing
How I'm supposed to help you, if your report is just "nothing" ? What do you mean ?
-
When I open FSX and go to start a flight the GSX does not show up, I mean it does not open yesterday I did the experiment in several scenarios and it did not start, I hope I have helped to explain what happened. It has always worked well.

Still not very clear what "GSX does not show up mean". Do you mean:
- The normal GSX menu doesn't open, but you have the GSX menu under "Addons"
- You don't have the GSX menu under "Addons", but you have the other items like "Couatl - Settings", "Addon Manager", "SODE"
- You are also missing the other menus under "Addons". Which ones, exactly ?
-
I am sending attached the image of my FSX in Add-Ons as you can see there is no GSX or Couatl - Settings.
In Addons Manager appears the GSX and GSX Level 2 Exp. as well as some of your Sceneries

So, your problem is just Couatl not starting. As explained in so many other posts in this thread:
- Configure the antivirus to exclude the whole Addon Manager folder
- Run the FSDT Live Update
Try after a Windows restart and, if you exit from FSX, BE SURE you allow enough time for all programs to close, which is usually AFTER the FSX icon disappeared. If you restart FSX too quickly, when Couatl was still finishing to close, it won't start on the next start up of the sim.

Virtuali Thank you very much, I'll do what you told me and let you know if it's solved
Thank you very much
Joao

Virtuali already did everything you mentioned because it is the same now I went to start a flight and nothing GSX does not open nor appears in the Add-ons menu.
I am starting to get desperate because everything was always right and now

Please clarify if it never opens, not even after a Windows restart, or it doesn't RE-open on a 2nd session.
If it never opens, that's surely the antivirus, no questions about that.

Virtuali When I restart Windows it normally starts antiviris ok.

I haven't asked if the antivirus starts normally after a Windows restart. I asked if COUATL starts normally after a Windows restart.

How can I see if Couatl is on? :-[

You have to load up FSX and start a flight.

OK I got it yes when I close windows and restart then open FSX and ok GSX appears as Couatl. I hope I answered what you asked me...

Ok, so Couatl is clearly working on your system and, your only problem is that it doesn't work on a 2nd session.
If this is the case, then the problem might just be you are restarting FSX too quickly after the initial session.
As explained in some many threads in this forum, even if the FSX icon has disappeared, it doesn't mean it's safe to restart it, because all the executables started by it might still be finishing to close, and this will of course change depending how many you have and your system RAM ( which in FSX can't be more then 4GB anyway ).
AFTER a Windows restart, check with the Task manager if Couatl.exe closes normally when you quit FSX. Only THEN it's safe to start FSX again. If you restart it before it closed, it won't run on the 2nd session, becuase the first one is still closing.
-
I'm sorry but I feel a sadness with FSX I find it very unstable. Yesterday morning I turned on the PC and made a flight plan, opened FSX and GSX nothing (when I turned on the PC was just in the morning so I had not started before).
This morning exactly the same situation. Honestly before the upg. my GSX was a wonder I have this program since the first release.
What could it be?
Joao

I'm sorry but, as you can clearly see, you are the one and only one not being able to start GSX after the update. I cannot reproduce any of your problems, and nobody else is still reporting issues of GSX not starting.
I've always base my suggestions on your reports, but they seem to change. Sometimes you say it never works, sometimes you say it works after a Windows restart. Clearly, something wrong is going on with your system, maybe it's time for a complete reinstall.
-
I think your suggestion is to reboot the GSX from scratch right? So you can help me I have in the Control Panel the GSX version 2.5.0.5, I go there and uninstall? after the installation I go to your site to dowl the GSX and install? my installation code is valid? sorry for the questions but I know little of Informatica
Joao
-
I don't think your problem is anything in GSX. The most likely cause is still the antivirus. However, if you want to do a more complete uninstall/reinstall, do as follows:
- Uninstall from the Windows Control Panel and reply YES to the question "Do you want to remove the Addon Manager" ?
- Download the latest installer.
- Be ABSOLUTELY SURE the Addon Manager folder you'll chose to install IS added to the antivirus Exclusions.
- Try restarting Windows at the end of the installation, before launching it for the first time.
-
Thanks for the tip, the problem appeared when I did the upgt by you released so much that I mentioned in the opening of this post the problem of the lights on the panel of the A320 Aerosoft. It would not be good sense to have to install everything where I have 80 Addons installed and not migrated to Prepar3D for financial reasons like me there are many in this World for sure. Thank you for your support, I will try to do the installation and report on the situation.
