Hey guys
just wondering if there is any downloadable flies to enhance the simple things of the F-18, such as sounds afterburners ect. Basically any addons.
I took a look and didn't come across anything so I'll ask
I have the irus f-16 package and would like the same kinda sounds ...don't really like the mfd radar much difficult to locate airports and their active runnways. Unless im doing something wrong asusual..lol
thanks
Happy Newyears to everyone
Glenn.

order the VRS Superbug!!!
-
Superbug is not available yet for FSX.

http://http://simviation.com/menu.html You can find mods for default FSX F-18 on simviation or there were some here on fsdt as well.
-
ok thank you
for those of you that may fly single props from time to time do you find that the faster jets cause more of a blur affect on the scenery...example flying a cessna things are very detailed but a f-18 on same exterior view doesn't look as crisp...
any thoughts.

A lot of the tweaks and fixes that used to be here on the FSDT Board got lost during a routine tidy up by the site admins a while back. I'm in the process of (slowly) putting a lot of those missing ones back together at:
voodoo.wikispaces.com (http://voodoo.wikispaces.com)
In addition to Simviation.com mentioned by Skimmer, you'll also find a number at the FSXblueangels.com website and the Flightsim.com site too.

Unless you're on a high specced machine, the scenery rendering engine in FSX can have trouble keeping up with things when you're travelling at high speeds (any sustained speeds above around 300 knots). One of the noticeable effects of that can be the higher res ground textures not loading quickly enough (followed by other scenery objects not loading quickly enough). That may be what you are seeing, Glenn.
There are are a several tweaks you can make to improve those types of performance problems. You'll find many performance tweaks listed on sites like:

Can someone please give me a little info on the Beta from the link you posted at the fsxproblueangels.com? i was just wondering, i saw like the cessna radio panel etc. I don't necessarily want that panel on my f18 is there a way to eliminate that? Thanks guys

jimi08, thanks for the URLs, however the second link you provided does not work "Information The requested topic does not exist.: (http://fsxproblueangels.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2527). What was that one about please? Thanks.

Many people found an inconsistency in the default F/A-18 radio that seemed to prevent TACAN frequencies from being entered correctly. The fix was to switch to an alternative radio type (the Cessna radio was known to work consistently) in the Panel.cfg file. I'm guessing that the ILS system for the new HUD maybe doesn't work properly unless you opt for the Cessna radio...but happy to stand corrected on that if that's not the case.
You can read more about the old problem in the following posts:

The new HUD will work without the Cessna Radio stack. I put it in the panel.cfg because I knew a lot of people have it for the reasons Voodoo mentioned. Besides it is the only way to enter a NAV2 frequency. The Acceleration Hornet UFC allows only NAV1 frequency selection.
Edit: In addition, it's not a problem if you have 2d gauges in the panel.cfg that you don't use. As long as they are not opened (with a Shift+ combination), they are not loaded and are not calculated, so they don't slow down the sim or anything. Only gauges in the virtual cockpit are loaded automatically.

I duly stand corrected. Thanks for that info, Neutrino.
