Hi!
I noticed that when I arrive at an airport and call for a GPU, most of the time it spawns somewhere on the airport far far away and thus takes quite some time to arrive. It can take up to 20min for it to arrive, depending on the airport. It is not the same spawn location as the bus btw.
But when I start a flight on that same airport/stand and call for the GPU, it will spawn right behind the aircraft.
Any idea why that is?

This is not normal, the GPU should always start close to the airplane, no matter if you are landing or departing. We'll check this.

Thanks Umberto.
Here's a clip of today at LIRF, but this also happened at EHAM, LOWS, EDDL and others.... Spawn locations of the GPU upon arrival are very strange.
But then I noticed they always seem to come from the direction of the touchdown point or at least of the runway I landed, maybe this is of help/relevance...

I think I found the "reason" or at least I know what's happening:
The GPU "remembers" the location at which I bring up the GSX menu to select my gate for arrival (which is usually shortly after I vacated the runway). It seems to think I'm at that exact position when I call for it and will spawn there. It will find it's way (using a straight line through buildings etc.) to the aircraft eventually.
But it's apparently totally thrown off....

Okay, last report then I'll shut up :D
I tested it again and it's definitely like I suspected, the GPU gets sent from exactly the position I selected my arrival gate after landing.
Here I was taxiing on ALPHA after vacating 35R at MXP when I selected stand 105. After calling the GPU at stand, it spawned over at taxiway ALPHA and drove over to 105.
Hope you can fix this soon :) Thanks!

Any news on this? Could you replicate it? Is it fixable?
Thanks!

We'll check this as soon as we can.

Still an issue

Hi
Can we look forward to a fix on this please?
Thanking you in advance.
Kind regards

still a problem

Please report if choosing "Restart Couatl" on arrival fixes this.

will try tomorrow and report back

Hi
I have discovered a workaround to the problem (as suggested to me by @disco79stu - Thank you!) that if one selects the parking in GSX when very close to the actual parking, the GPU does turn up in good time. And from the spot view, one can tell that it spawned at the point where parking selection was made and not from behind the aircraft how it does before departure.
So, the problem of the GPU taking a long time to turn up after arrival seems to happen if the selection of the parking for arrival is very far away, as in my case, I normally select my parking just after passing 10,000ft in the descent and before reaching the transition level. This is normally miles away from the arrival airport.
Perhaps this root cause should be investigated and a fix provided.
Thanks in advance.

so after landing at lgav vacated 03R on D8, restarted couatl selected the b31 stand and taxied there, shut the engines down and requested the gpu. It did turn up in a fair amount of time but it could be that i was close to the parking. surely it didnt arrive from behind of the aircraft, as it does on the first load of the aircraft when you request for the first time the gsx's services.

This has been very helpful.

i would like also to add that i arrived at the stand withouy actually selecting it, and after requesting the gpu, it arrived super quick just as when you firstly request services after the first load of the sim
