I very much like GSX but on my laptop the key combination to start GSX is too cumbersome to make it usable for me.
I have the Logitech Yoke and Throttle package installed and working fine. On the quadrant I have spare switches and would like to assign one of them to replace the keyboard F12 etc to initiate GSX.
Has anyone any suggestions or done this - if so how please.
Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer.

Use the Logitech software to assign a keyboard combination to one of the buttons, and be sure it's the same used by GSX.

Thank you. I did try to do that but wasn't having much luck. Probably I was doing something wrong.

Alas, my finger trouble hitting wrong keys and not noticing.....
I reinstalled the software and it seems to be working and doing what I want. Still testing but looking good 😀

Yay. The button press now calls GSX. Initially it was also triggering a screenshot with each press. This was caused by Steam using F12 as a screenshot key (now disabled in Steam settings). But...... now when I press the button to call GSX it gives me GSX but also changes my view automatically to the top down view. I can't see any assignment clashes in either the FSX or Profile settings.
Anyone any ideas please?
Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer.

And now it won't connect at all. Turned laptop off and rebooted everything. All assignments to Yoke, Throttle and Quadrant vanished. Its like a never ending bad dream.
Any thoughts please let me know.

I guess this doesn't happen when you call GSX with the keyboard ?

No, it's ok using the keyboard. The combination of keys on my laptop needed make it very difficult to initiate GSX so I wanted to make it easier to use by adding a key assignment to a spare switch on my Logitech quadrant. There are so few key combinations left free by FSX it is a nightmare trying to sort it out.

Try something with TAB+some key, they are usually free.

Good suggestion. I have a table now which shows assignments, but not those that are free. I'll try later or tomorrow and see how it goes 😀

I changed GSX to F12 and my switch assignment to F12 and, so far, all seems to be working. 😀
