Title: Updated Blue Angels C130
Post by: Voodoo on November 28, 2009, 12:00:15 am
For any of you Blue Angels fans out there who like to fly the "heavies", I've posted up a new updated version of the "Fat Albert" C130 at the following link.

It features a number of special effects (with credit to lots of people, but especially Randy "Intrepid" Nash for his help and testing)...and particularly, this new version features an actual Thrust Boost while the JATO rockets are active!

Hope some of you may find this to be an enjoyable addition to your fleet.

The JATO Show Dies Of Old Age
"November 6, 2009: One of the last regular users of JATO (Jet Assisted Take Off) rockets is dropping the practice. The U.S. Navy Blue Angels acrobatic team will no longer feature their C-130 (called "Fat Albert", and used to haul around the maintenance personnel and their equipment) doing a quick and fiery takeoff using JATO rockets. This was always a crowd pleaser, partly because you hardly see it anymore...."

Thanks Spaz.
I'd heard that the JATO was to be discontinued by the Angels. Hoped it was just rumour and not true, but sadly seems that this indeed is the last season that folks will see the spectacular JATO displays from them. Shame really...I'd heard it was a cool crowd experience!

The feel (could call it the THUNDER :o) from a Jato demo  was enough to shake right through you, even from a few hundred yards away, It is a shame that the Angels display will not continue to incorporate the Jato
Congrats on your release VooDoo
Very nice C130,,VERY NICE Indeed 8)
