I updated this morning and restarted my computer but couatl keeps crashing again. This happened a few weeks back and it was fixed.
Thanks
Darcy

When will I learn to wait on the updates and check here for issues. No flying today, with GSX, cyvr or klax anyways.

Yeah hopefully something is fixed soon. None of the previous fixes work, for me anyways.

Do you folks know if there is a way to revert to an older version ?

I wish. Totally unusable GSX, cyvr and klax. I wish they would put the old update back. They did this last time and it got things working. Please Fix!! Yes I have restarted several times and my folder is restricted from virus.

This is getting annoying, lately we are having destructive updates that end up killing immersion! and most importantly not letting us use the add-on
-
It doesn't seem to matter what airport I try and load into, same thing here.
-
Yes it doesn’t matter which airport or airplane. Seems like there is something wrong in the Followme.pye file that got pushed out in the last update.
Unfortunately I think it’s bad timing because it seems like the Devs are taking some well deserved time off.
I wonder if it would be ok for someone to share an older version of the followme.pye and test if that temporarily fixes the issue until the devs are back.
Thanks

I tried a slightly older (Sept 2019) followme.pye and the problem persisted. But then I swapped the _init_.pye
(again from Sept_2019) and my GSX works again!
-
That’s awesome Darcy. Where did you get the older init file ? Do you mind sharing it Please ?

Asad Kamal

same here ..couatl crash saying....is there someone out there that could share an older version of the followme.pye temporarily pls and thx

I am also having this problem. It stared for no apparent reason and I have done everything suggested on this site to fix the problem, several times over. I am becoming very frustrated with it all. Below is a copy of the error report I receive after the crash. As soon as the cache is built the couatl crashes.

Is it just my feeling, or is it indeed that lately there are more breaking updates issued than it used to be?
Maybe it would be time to think about a different model of providing updates. Something like a "bleeding edge" channel for those who want/need the latest stuff and accept breaking changes, and a "stable" channel with better tested and mature updates for those who primarily want a stable system.
For many of us, GSX is an integral part of simming, and when it does not work, that is a problem. Not all of us are willing to beta-test.

Same problem here. Cannot get GSX to work. So frustrating !!!!!

I have spent the last two days going over every page on this form trying every fix i can find. I am starting to think there there is a major issue with the last update. I find it more than just a coincidence that everything worked fine for me until three days ago. Seems as if I am not the only one having this issue. I will try a few more things today and see what happens. Has anyone been able to find a solution to this issue?
Thanks,
Scott B.
-
If you update you will get the issue. My guess is many have not updated and therefore not having any problems. Hopefully they will be back from vacation soon and fix the issue. This has been 6 days now.

I deleted the GSX FollowME.pye file and loaded FSDT KLAX and found that the couatl will load and continue run without crashing. As soon as I add the file back, it crashed immediately. Of course GSX does not work, but at least the couatl is not crashing. I think there is something corrupt in this file. Maybe someone else could try this as well and see if they have the same results. I hope that someone at FSDT offers a solution soon.
Thanks,
Scott B.

Same here, Dave_YVR would you be able to post the older .py files that've fixed the issue? Seems to be a common problem with the newest updater. Flying without GSX for now.
Virtuali, it'd be great if you could provide an update on how this is happening or whether you have a fix lined up!
Happy New Year!

Unfortunately, having checked myself, Umberto was last active on Christmas day. If there's anybody who would know anything about this, it would be him.
-
Maybe the solution (until Umberto is back from holiday):
Another user has submitted old GSX files in this thread:
http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,22763.msg153175.html#msg153175
Many thanks to "saskarider"!!!
You do not need all this files, just "FollowMe.pye". Copy it into the directory, Saska mentions and it should work (at least here ony my sim)
-
thx much for your help guys ... i tried the last solution, doesn't work me . lets just hope Umberto makes it back soon.

Have you put all the files he posted into the parkingservices folder and not just the followME.pye? That did it for me.
-
ok it worked just put the PYE file in . thx for your temporary help.

It's very strange you get this error since Dec. 25th, since the last update we released was on Dec. 12th, and we specifically decided to not release *anything* during the holidays, for the precise reason of not being able to do promptly fixes when everybody at FSDT ( not just me, I'm just the one replying here, but FSDT is several people...), and in addition to that, I found myself without internet access, so I had to CUT my already short vacation because of that.
I forced a refresh of some files, try running the Live Update again now.
-
Umberto
I ran the update and did not receive any error message. Thanks for the update. I would like to volunteer to test any updates. My system is somewhat complicated as I have multiple addons, PMDG, Carenado, Flightbeam, FSUIPC, Spadnext, Orbx multiple sceneraries, GTN Complete,Prepar3d V4.
-
I did run the update this afternoon but after pushback finished in EGCC the cuatl crashing and this the log, did I miss something?

Your error it's new, it's different from the one reported before, and we are checking it.

Okay thank you for a quick respons ;-)
-
Alright everyone just update your stuff with the updater they have released the fix. Can confirm mines working fine now thanks FSDT!
-
As I started this thread, I too can confirm that the update stops the crashing of couatl. I was able to get it working a few days ago thanks to someone supplying me the 2 files, followme and the pye,
Thanks for fixing

Your log shows GSX is working normally.

Is it safe to update or not? I got a notification tonight about an update, not run the sim in a few days. After the disaster with the last update before Christmas I thought I would check if there's problems with the latest update before attempting to install it.
Chris

Yes, it's good to update GSX again.
-
If you read this thread, you would have known that several other users confirmed that error was fixed several days ago.
