Hi all,
I've had this problem since the last major update, before the update everything was fine.
When I start FSX, GSX isn't showing in the add-on manager, even though the couatl engine is running in task manager.
The add-on manager folder plus the couatl exe is excluded from the anti-virus. Plus all my VC libraries are up to date.
The only way to make sure it runs is to run the updater before I start FSX.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks :)

Hi, I have the same issue sometimes.
Quit the couatl process in task manager and restart fsx. This solves the problem for me. So you don‘t have to run the updater.

Fact you have to do this, seems to indicate you or another add-on has mistakenly set wrong compatibility settings for FSX in the Windows registry. The updater fix them back to default, that's why it might appear to "fix" a problem which was caused by something else.
Even Windows *itself* might set a wrong compatibility setting, for example after the program crashes, for any reason totally unrelated to GSX.
