Why is it we cannot access any GSX services if engines are running, But when we call for push back GSX asks if we want to start engines first?? Can we get access to push back with GSX if engines are running please?

It's not realistic to have any services while the engines are running. It would be to dangerous for the groundcrew. So GSX ask if you want to start the engines after the pushback truck has taken it's position. (normally you start the engines while the pushback is in progress). So, it would just be a very unrealistic option to have.

The problem is GSX provides more than just pushback services. In addition to pushback, you also get boarding, de-boarding, catering, and refueling, so if you did any of those with the engines running, bad things would happen. GSX has no idea which one you're going to pick. As far as starting engines before pushback is concerned, in most cases, you wouldn't do this anyway. The only time you really would is if your APU was inoperative and you needed the ground air cart for the engine start, then you'd start at least one at the gate.
