Team,
I recently upgraded from P3dv3.4 to P3Dv4.5 and tried reinstalling GSX after a failed update. The file download goes well until I get to the actual install and receive this error for every .pyo file.
I've tried with McAfee Real Time Scanning and Firewall off and still the same result.
Pretty much every file after this prompts results in an error. I'm GSX-less, any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
-
i would try to redownload the latest installer, clearing your browser cache first, so you realy get a clean fresh set of files.
Also uninstall GSX completely before you try again.
-
This did not rectify the installer issue. It's showing the unpacked files from the installer are corrupt?
I've cleared the cache, downloaded the latest installer (p3dv4.5 64bit)
-
I can only repeat and confirm the installers which are online are not corrupt, and you are the only one reporting this problem. Are you sure you are downloading from our website ?
-
Yes, I am downloading right from the fsdreamteam site. It seems every file unpacked is corrupt? I am only having this problem on GSX v2.6. I am running win10 64 and downloading the p3dv4.4 64 bit for p3dv4.5. I seen the option to uninstall gsx, even when ignoring the corrupt errors but no Couatl on the programs page. Again I can download the installer with real time scaning and firewall off, the program downloads the files fine (1.7gb) but once it comes to unpacking and installing, it gets to every file after aircraftData.pyo and state it is corrupt.
-
As I've said, I can only repeat and confirm the installers which are online are not corrupt, and you are the only one reporting this problem so, it's clearly something happening locally in your system.
Do you have enough space on C: drive ? Even if you install elsewhere, the installer must uncompress itself first in the default Windows TEMP folder, and the downloaded files will be saved into C:\Documents\GSX_Installer.
Try to remove the C:\Documents\GSX_Installer and download again.
-
I repeated the disabling the real-time scanner and firewall and downloaded the v4.4 64bit again. When I uninstalled GSX, it automatically removed the Documents/GSX_Installer files. Today (new issue), just as the download portion of the install completed, an error window popped up indicating corrupt files. This didn't even make it to the initial installation of files.
Where in the TEMP file does the installer direct those files? I've checked the registry, defrag my computer, checked all other files, but only have issues downloading the content within the installer from the items in the bin files onto my computer.
What was the difference between v3 and 4.4 .pye (I assume python program?) code files? I ran a windows update, still no success. Could this a file extension issue?
-
Do you have a direct link to the bins? This could be a problem on the servers or the fact I'm pushing it over here to South Korea.
-
The installers would download the latest files, but it's important to delete all old installer and files and to delete the browser cache, or you may end in old (mabe corrupted during the download) files.
-
I have done this and still with the same result.
I downloaded the file using IE, and got much further to the .dds files which eventually, corrupted from there (alabeo_wagon.dds and further). I don't believe this is on my end or the actual download file off the website, but somewhere in-between. I wondering if a direct link to the bin files would work instead of downloading them packed and extracted with the installer itself.
-
Tried...again, cleared all cache and still having the issues. This isn't on my end. I've never encountered any problems as such in the last 2 years using this product than literally not being able to install it because the files that were downloaded were corrupted. I've encountered a similar issue with FS2Crew and had to be sent the link to the files.
I have:
verified C drive space
cleared cache
disabled anti-virus and real-time scanner then downloaded
cleared old download files
Checked all other files
Checked the registry
Now at "Source Files Corrupted"
What is different about this than the v3 version? Are there any recommendations in troubleshooting the installer other than running it as an administrator? is there a KB update I may be missing here that was included into the v4.4 update?
-

So you DO have encountered a similar problem with FS2Crew. The links on our website are all correct, the files downloads fine and, right now, you still are the one and only reporting such problem.
Can you try downloading from another PC ?
-
This was on a different operating system, different install of windows when I encountered the problem. I aways thought because of my location.
I will try on a different computer and will report back.
-
All,
Downloaded the file from the fsdreamteam website, 64bit version 4.4 on my son's computer, Win10, 64bit and still occurring the same problem.
The more and more I think about this, maybe there was an update on windows which affected the extractor to corrupt the files.
I still do not think this on my system. The developers owe at least an explanation of how these files fit in the framework of the system and how this error could go wrong in any computer.
This is not how I want to end the use of a product I used for two years over a simple installation issue. Something is clearly different regarding these files than previous versions...which worked on my system.
-

A Windows update you are the only one that use it ?

Of course it's your system, otherwise we would have been flooded by hundreds or even thousands similar reports, if the file were *really* corrupted, or a Windows update were somewhat not compatible with our installer. Instead, you are still the one and only reporting this specific problem so yes, it IS your system, no question about it.
And, you said yourself you had a similar problem with FS2Crew, which required to get the files in a different way so, clearly, something in your system is preventing you to get uncorrupted downloads, even when they are entirely unrelated to FSDT.
These are the files which are online now:

The first code is the MD5 hash. You can use this utility here.
http://www.winmd5.com/
To verify the hash file for the files you downloaded.
If ALL hashes are matching, it means the download went fine, and something in your system is preventing to uncompress the files.
If one of the hashes doesn't match, it means something went wrong during the download.

Umberto,
I've run check disk to determine hard drive health and system file checker to check for erroneous files. I've also disabled Windows Defender AND McAfee entirely and still getting the same error.
You may be able to send me a separate link to download gsx_p3d4_setup2-1.bin to see if this is the culprit since the hash didn't match in the checksum. If this is one of the first files that install into the system, this file could be the culprit, which I don't believe the issue is on my system but possibly the framework. Basically, if it is not on your servers, it could be somewhere in the transfer process. Between both Win 7 and Win10 systems I had, I've always had problems downloading updates from the FSDT live update or your servers here in Korea. Every update I've done with GSX always resulted in me having to uninstall and reinstall the program.

http://update.fsdreamteam.com/gsx_p3d4_setup2-1.bin (http://update.fsdreamteam.com/gsx_p3d4_setup2-1.bin)
I tried it now to download it manually, and it returns the correct file with the correct MD5 hash:

Umberto,
Tried it again, it's still pulling from: 119f3af6643d4401838f02ade30f52c3. I don't know where and what this is. The culprit seems to be either the file or possibly somewhere in the link. McAfee was off, the cache was cleared when I tried to download it.
-
Umberto,
I tried downloading the bin file again on my external hard drive and it returned: d1121e1103becd49214b6b774ab97578
I don't think its my hard drive. Its somewhere in the transmission process.

It's clearly something happening on your system. You are still the only one reporting this. Have you tried restarting the modem/router ?
-
Restarting did not work. You sure this isn't the installer?
I am still GSX-less and need resolution ASAP. It is not my system that is causing this. I very certain of this.

I think I already proven this many times, by comparing the hashes which I just downloaded, against the ones which are download on your system and your system only.

Yes, it's your system, that's for sure, since nobody else has reported this, and many thousands of users have downloaded the same installer without any problems.
Try downloading with a VPN:
https://www.hotspotshield.com/
-
Umberto,
The VPN method worked! It downloaded and installed just fine.
I knew the issue wasn't my system but the connection somewhere. This may have explained what happened with my FS2Crew file 2 years ago when I was on a different system at another apartment.
Thanks for the assistance and for being patient!
-
I am having this exact same issue now. Tried a different laptop (with VPN) and those files were corrupted, too.
May I please have the direct linking off the server for the 6 files?
PS: I keep retrying and every time the corruption is at a different percentage of install completion.
