Title: New PBR Update- Cargo Containers Bug
Post by: rfelger on July 02, 2019, 08:55:11 pm
Greetings, after the new update, when loading/unloading cargo aircraft, specifically UPS handling, the ground equipment all says UPS but the containers being loaded say Jet Aviation.

Thanks

This has been discussed and answered many times: the handling operator doesn't have any effect on the choice of ULDs. That is driven by the atc_airplane_codes in the AIRCRAFT.CFG, assuming your airplane has them.

That's Interesting because it never happened prior to this update. The containers always said UPS on them prior. I've done well over 100 flights with the PMDG 747-8 UPS livery- Containers all said UPS every time.

Does the airplane has UPS in the atc_parking_code lines in its aircraft.cfg ?

Ill have to check that when i get home. What exactly should that line look like?

Thanks!

I can confirm this cargo container issue. I have several Airbus aircraft with "atc_parking_codes = AAL" that previously got the right logo, but now only get Jet Aviation.

Instead of a screenshot, please post you actual aircraft.cfg file ZIPPED, Attached to a post. I must check if there's something wrong with it, so it might have been skipped.

I will do that, but this is happening on every aircraft with cargo containers, not just the airbus.

The only thing a bit unusual in your aircraft.cfg ( I only checked the aerosoft version ), is that tabs and spaces are used inconsistently, sometimes there are spaces, sometimes tabs and sometimes both in the same line, including the line that contains the atc_parking_codes.

I'm not sure if this could be a problem or not, you might try fixing it.

In the meantime, we'll do some further checks on our own.

Thanks! I think that has to do with how reach repainter created their file. It hasn't been an issue in the past but I will clean it up, anyway.

Hello,

Just registered in the forum :) firstly, thanks for the great update !

If i may join the discussion I also have the issue. I use my own VA repaint. It worked fine before the update with the old paintkit (I was only using the level1).

With the 2.6 update, I’ve recreated my VA operator following the manual (with rules.cfg files in %AppData% path) and I got the “jet aviation” logo on containers ! Tested with both FSL A320 & PMDG 747-400. Both include the atc_parking_codes line in the aircraft.cfg file, and I recall it worked before updating to version 2.6 !

This is only an assumption as I didn’t take much time to do deeper test, but it seems that if you affect the operator to a gate in the customization panel, it works ! At least when I first created the operator using the configuration panel in P3D and applied to the gate I was parked, I could see my VA logo on the containers... I can make further tests later if you wish

Regards,
Antoine

Hello,

Just did the test:
In “customize airport positions” control panel
1. Do not specify handling opr for he gate, the container logo is “jet aviation”,
2. Set handling opr as my VA, the container logo is my VA one,
3. Revert back handling to default, the logo back to “jet aviation”.

Same here, with KLM assigned in the atc_parking_codes line.

Thanks! I know the forum has been pretty busy since the update release. GSX isone of the best things I've ever bought for the sim and your support is very much appreciated.

I just wanted to tune in to confirm that the baggae containers are all Jet Aviation here as well depite all my aircraft having the correct atc_parking_codes assigned. GSX never chooses the airline logo.  :(

I'm using the FSLabs A320.

Any news on this?

We made a *partial* fix for this, which is online now, but is still not complete. The codes from the aircraft.cfg file are now read and control the ULD, but for the time being, they must match the codes used by GSX, which are not necessarily the ones used by the AFCAD.

For example, American Airlines in GSX is "AA" (IATA), while the atc parking codes usually found in airplanes or AFCADs use the AAL ( ICAO ) so, in your aircraft.cfg, you'll have to set this:

atc_parking_codes = AA

to see ULDs from American Airlines.

However, this will change in a future update, since it's best to conform to using the ICAO standard, like in AFCADs.

Hello Umberto,

I did a Live update today, then I put into the PMDG 777 aircraft.cfg the line "atc_parking_codes=LH", started P3DV4.5, , had COATL re-Cache the airport which is EDDF from Aerosoft, loaded the PMDG 777F Lufthansa Cargo, and started the Deboarding process at Cargo ramp position.

aircraft.cfg entry as follows ( aircraft.cfg as zip attached. ) also a photo attached, from which can be seen that the ULD's are JET Aviation. They should be LH right? Or what is wrong? tks for advice. rgds Andreas

You did it all right, it's working in FSX only right now, we must update it to support the DirectX logos in P3D4 now.

Hello Umberto,

tks, good to know that I got the steps to do right. Though right now my version is not supported. But: Tks again. You are the best support I know. Great.

Will such update of this functionality take long or is it to be anticipated to be rather soon?

Tks again,
best regards
Andreas

It shouldn't take too long for this to work in P3D4 as well, likely during the next week.

Hello Umberto,

could you outline when we may exspect this update to fix the issue for P3D V4.5?

thanks

We already fixed it in our internal version but, we need to do some other things before being able to publish it.

Hi

Can you say if the fix for this was pushed out in the latest update. It's not yet working for me. I still get multiple different container logos. Using FSX.

Many thanks.

It's fixed now, in P3D4.

In FSX, for the time being, you must set the atc_parking_codes in the aircraft.cfg to use the same 2 letters code used by GSX so, for example, AA for American, AZ for Alitalia, etc.

You can check the available codes in the Addon Manager\Texture\handling\texture.XXX folders

Hello Umberto,

Running P3DV4.5 I have configured the AIRCRAFT.CFG of the Aerosoft A321 IAE Professional as follows:
quote
[FLTSIM.5]
title= Aerosoft A321 professional LUFTHANSA D-AISP
sim=A321
model=EXTIAENEWLH
panel=
sound=
texture=LHDAISP
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=D-AISP
atc_airline=Lufthansa
atc_flight_number=
ui_manufacturer=Airbus
ui_type=A321-231 IAE
ui_variation=Lufthansa
ui_typerole=Commercial Airliner
ui_createdby=Aerosoft
atc_parking_types=GATE
atc_parking_codes=LH
description=Aerosoft A321 professional IAE / Lufthansa D-AISP \nwww.aerosoft.com \nPaint by Stefan Hoffmann
unquote

When for example at EDDH and chosing Lufthansa as the operator then the Cargo containers coming off the plane show the Lufthansa Logo allright.

When I am chosing WISAG as operator then - despite having configured "atc-parking-codes=LH" in aircraft config the cargo containers coming off the plane show WISAG. So is the chosen operator the determining factor for the Logo on the containers, despite having configured in aircraft config LH?

thanks for entlightment.

rgds
Andreas

atc_parking_codes for Lufthansa should read DLH, not LH.

Exactly, as I've said in my previous message, the two letter code is for FSX only. In P3D4, it works normally with a 3 letter code.

Hello, How do I set Jet Aviation as the ULD livery specifically? Some airlines use Jettainer containers and I want to use Jet Aviation as a generic replacement.

I think it's JAS, don't quote me on it though. :P
