I have just downloaded the latest version of GSX Level 2 and installed it. But when the Live Update is running l get an error message saying 'Couldn't start the Couatl scripting engine. This is usually caused by an antivirus or a firewall which is blocking the download. Please disabled it or configure it to exclude the Addon Manager folder and try again'.
I have disabled my Anti Virus software and also checked the Firewall and when I try and re run the Live Update I keep getting this message.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This problem happened for a few moments yesterday, because we had a missing file on the Live Update server, but it's now fixed. If you still have it now, even after running the Live Update, then the error message is right, and the problem is your antivirus.
Of course, the antivirus is only the most common problem. There might be other causes for this, less common, such as missing VC++ libraries. The "Missing/Corrupted VC++ libraries in your system. See solution in the "Addon Manager not showing up in P3Dv4 **SOLVED**" thread should give some suggestions how to fix this:

The full GSX installer DOES install the VC++ libraries but, in some cases, you might have to RESTART WINDOWS after installing GSX, in order for the VC++ libraries installation to be complete.

I have followed the reinstall for the VC + + libraries and have followed what you have mentioned.
My anti virus is fully turned off and the error remains.
GSX was working fine until I went to install the latest one.

I'm sorry, but I can only repeat and confirm everything is correct now on the Live Update.
Try this: remove the following folder:
%APPDATA%\Virtuali\UpdateCache
That's another place that, if an antivirus interferes, can mess with the Live Update process. Then, run Live Update again.

Still getting Couldn't start the Couatl scripting engine.Anti Virus completely disabled. Microsoft Run time all installed. I even tried to reinstall an old copy of GSX but was requested to install new version. I have uninstalled, reinsatlled rsbooted and still the same.
Please help resolve this issue. I can't even install my old copy of GSX so am completely without GSX. I am using Windows 7 and P3Dv 4.3
Thanks

The thread I've linked above about VC++ libraries, contains everything we know about what might prevent the program from starting, assuming it's not the antivirus, which is by far the most common case.

I reinstalled and still got the error message. But this time the update worked and I'm in business and looking forward to passengers and jetways. The problem was the 2015 library conflicting with a 2017 library that was not allowing a 2015 library install. I deleted the 2017 library and I think that's what worked. Anyone still having problems might try deleting 2017 library if you have one and run the install and update again .
