i dont know if im doing this right sorry if not 1st time and cant type but could some one tell me where the speed brake is on f18 thanks ???

On the throttle handle. It might be difficult to reach without changing VC view or without a TrackIR, so you might find easier to use the keyboard command, the key on the left of the Enter key (key name depending on country), or assign the speed brake on a joystick or throttle axis, the Saitek X52 throttle has a dedicated slided just for that.

That on the throttle is proportional, because it can be dragged. If you use they keyboard, instead, it's either 0 or 100%

twrodd, the F/A-18 speedbrake is mapped to "spoiler" in the control surfaces dropdown. I think this is what you were asking.

Thanks , Thats cool, I will have to change the assighnment I have ,to the proportional slide (I have been using the "D" button on the throttle control)
