Hi all,
I recently upgraded my OS and GPU. I needed to install everything back from scratch. But unfortunately my FSX does not work anymore.
I reinstalled it like 10 times, but nothing works.
It does show up (along with the addon-manager) in my add-on list in FSX, and i can go into the GSX settings menu, but the menu itself (where it says request boarding etc...) does not show up at all.
I tried to change the default key-mapping but nothing worked.
I also reinstalled the frameworks, same story :(.
Sometimes it does work, but then i can't get the options (boarding etc...) because it says that there are no services at this airport.
Please help!!!!!!!

If you have both the Addon Manager and the "GSX Settings" menus visible under the FSX "Addons" menu, it means there's nothing wrong with the GSX installation and it's working fine.
Some reasons why you don't see the GSX Ctrl+Shift+F12 menu are:
- Another product has taken the keys used by GSX so, you must fix the conflict either from that addon (assuming it allows you to change its keys), or from GSX. Note that, some addons take keys in a non-standard (not using Simconnect) way so, for example, they might block GSX from working even if they used just F12 and GSX is using Ctrl+Shift+F12. We had reports Ezdok camera used to do this.

This also is not a GSX problem but, a conflict caused by another scenery. You can check which scenery is used by GSX with the "Parking customization" menu. Some sceneries use auxiliary airports to represent seaplane bases, helicopter parkings, etc. so, they appear to be valid airports, but with no usable parkings. You can fix these cases as explained on the GSX manual, page 24.

Thank you for answering. Unfortunately. I didn't find any conflicts. Neither in Ezdok.
I adjusted the default key mappings with custom ones, but that didn't do the job.

Great! But is there any change i get to solve this myself? I've looked for double key assignments. But there aren't.

Reinstalling GSX won't obviously fix a key conflict caused by another software. Are you able to call GSX from the GSX menu under the "Addons" menu ? That's the same as pressing a key so, it should work regardless of any key conflicts.

No, i'm not able to do that either. Please help!!! I tried everything, but with no result.

I have the same issue, with the exception I am using P3Dv3.3. I see the menu and tried with clicking the drop menu as well as changing the key mapping.

It's very annoying. I can't even get the menu by clicking it. Tried to remap every single command.
Please help because its getting to annoying!

Again, if another product has stolen the GSX key, there's nothing you can do in GSX to fix this, other than fixing the issue in that other product
This, assuming the reason IS a key conflict. Another possible reason is that GSX is trying to tell you why it cannot start but, if you moved the "Verbosity" slider all the way down in the GSX Settings, you won't see any notifications from GSX anymore.

None of the addons is causing the problem. The little setting is set to 1. I don't know what that means.
Please can we arrange a tv session?

Can this cause the problem? GSX often says he can't find a valid AFCAD. This is only at a few airports. At the most airports i can't get gsx to work at all.

Please don't touch anything. That's not an issue.

Try the "Restart Couatl and rebuild the airport cache" option.

As i've said before: i've tried anything. It's getting really annoying right now. I rebuilded the cache a dozen times.

Sometimes when i press the show menu button, i get a message that the parking is too small. I then go and click on the small airplane icon in the adjust airport pos. menu and then he does recognise the parking facilities.
However, when i press the button again, the menu does not come up. So i am not able to get the GSX menu (req. boarding etc...) AT ALL.

Re-checked all my key bindings and tried other key mappings. Installed the GSX standalone addon manager. restart and re-built airport cache. Still no joy. I have track IR 5, P3Dv3.3, AS16, Full FSUIPC and LINDA. All my Saitek controls are run by FSUIPC. Not sure where else the key bindings would affect GSX? I get the drop down menus and click on the key mapping. GSX does not indicate anything. Is there something I am missing?

Could be the usual problem of having upgraded the P3D Client only, without installing the Content ? It's a very well known P3D installation problem that, if you upgrade P3D using the "Client" installer, the files needed to support the new menu styles won't be installed, which results in ALL 3rd PARTY addons with a menu stop working, not just GSX, but also FS Passengers, SODE, and countless of other 3rd party apps that displays an in-game menu.
The issue can be fixed by installing the P3D "Content" or the P3D "Full" installer.

Yes I have installed the client and content. I did notice that t stopped working after the live update did the updated KLAS files. Not sure and not assuming it had anything to do with that, but that is around the time I could not use GSX. Sode is the latest and it works and I also have Precip FX for general and Airbus and it also works. I'll install the content again and report back.

well, I installed the P3Dv3.3 content. No joy. So I installed P3Dv3.4 client and content and still no joy. I also ran the FDST updater.
EDIT: parked at KLAS gates, I get the open hanger door menu but no services menu.

I am having the same issue. I can see the GSX cones around the aircraft, and GSX shows in the menu. Will try to find if another program has taken over the GSX key command.

I even tried to change the key mappings to everything that not involves F12. For example: TAB + backspace or space.
Even this did not do the trick. Please help me!

You sent your message during the weekend (Saturday), and I don't "always" work on weekends (do *you* always work on weekends? )
I replied to your PM several hours ago, with instructions how to install TM and start a session. The message is not in my Outbox anymore, indicating that you already read it.

After 1,5 hours of teamviewer support i now have it working:
It has nothing to do with GSX, but with the Simconnect in FSX.
What i did:
- Repair Acceleration pack ( or normal editon).
If this does not work; try this:
- go to C:/Windows and then WinSxS. Then search for "simconnect" and right click on open location. Then remember those locations and boot into safe mode, and delete those THREE folders of SIMCONNECT (ONLY THOSE)

And reinstall the Simconnect client ( Simconnect.MSI ), otherwise you would be left with no Simconnect at all, or Repair again FSX, which should obtain the same result.
