Hi guys,
i know might be an easy one, but i am having troubles installing CYVR into P3DV3.
Always when starting the installer it tells me to search for the folder.
As all other scenery choose to install into V3, i am a little torn around as i had several problems today after installing CYVR and KLAS and choosing my P3D directory which is P:\Prepar3d

Update to this weird problem.
After installing in this directory, all FSDT and Flightbeam sceneries are moved over to the corresponding path.
And after the whole process the sceneries are not working anymore:
Here KORD after install of CYVR

Would be nice to know what the problem is here! also the scenery although deinstalled, is greyed out and still in the scenery library.

That's not what is telling you. It's telling you where you want to install Vancouver, which can be anywhere you want and, by default, it's under the C:\Program Files (x86)\Addon Manager, which is a correct location, if you have enough space on C:
As all other scenery choose to install into V3
What do you with "all other scenery" ? If you are referring to other FSDT scenery installers, they used to force you to install into the folder of the simulator. Now, they all let you to choose freely, which of course is a big improvement so, if you are still seeing an FSDT installer forcing you to install into the sim folder, it means you are using an outdated installer for them.
If, instead, with "all the other scenery", you mean other sceneries from other developers, it simply means these other sceneries still have the same limitation of our old installers, and still force you to install into the sim, opposite to our new installers, which let you freely choose any folder and any drive.

That's not normal, of course. The scenery will be moved to the new Addon Manager folder, which is normal, but it should work. Are you sure you haven't modified any of the files manually or, perhaps, tried to add them to the Scenery Library manually, which you shouldn't do ?

library.
What do you mean with "although deinstalled" ? You deinstalled them ? If yes, it's normal they wouldn't show.
In any case, if you have any problems, the most likely explanation is that your scenery.cfg already had some other problems, so the installers couldn't update it properly.
And, you haven't said which version of the sim you have. Just "V3" doesn't mean much, because the installation method and the usage (or not) of the scenery.cfg file depends on the version you have. The scenery.cfg is NOT used anymore in P3D 3.4 and 4.0 ONLY.

Umberto,
Problem happened just with FSDT sceneries.
had both installers on my HDD. apparently used the old ones for KLAX, KORD, etc and the new ones for KLAS and CYVR. And no i do and did not alter the scenery.cfg myself.
Nevertheless it's working now.
JFI: use version 3.4.22 still as i am owning a FDS cockpit and until not all stuff is working properly in V4 (although already bought it) i will stick to V3 for the time.
Btw. installing in C: is never an option for me... Windows drive needs to stay clean of all! ;) That's why i use multiple SSDs for all flightsim related programs, sceneries, addons, etc...
Anyhow all is working fine now. Thanks for the help and good work as always.
Greetings

That explains it.
