Title: KCLT approach/papi lights hard to see
Post by: bgebbie on June 11, 2017, 07:55:47 pm
Hi,

I just purchased KCLT, and am having a hard time seeing the approach and papi lights when I'm on final.
Compared to the approach/papi lights at KLAX, they are very small and dim even with my runway and approach light scalar modifiers disabled in my P3D config.
I have attached images to show what I mean.
I am running the latest version of P3D v3.

KLAX runway 24R lights

Is there any workaround or solution to make the lights more visible?

Thanks

It seems you are not using Anisotropic filtering. Enable it in the sim, and set it to 16x in the video card control panel, and be sure it's set to override/enhance the application setting.

Hi Umberto,

I put the settings at where you told me to, but it hasn't changed the lighting very much.
It's slightly more visible but it's still hard to see.
Also, I did not see the option for override/enhance the application settings for anisotropic filtering.
Is that option only in a newer Nvidia driver version? My driver is dated from October 2016.

Also, I did not see the option for override/enhance the application settings for anisotropic filtering.

I don't know how that tool works, maybe there are other settings that has been changed that shouldn't.

I said to use the normal nVidia Control Panel, I think they changed the setting so, you just set it to 16x. I'm sorry, but I don't see anything like in your screenshot. See how lights really looks like in P3D V3:
