First of all, thanks for getting new installers out so fast!
I seem to be having an issue after installing GSX/Addon Manager in my new v4 install. Almost immediately after launching, Prepar3d will crash with the "Prepar3D exe has stopped working" message. After making sure that nothing else was being loaded beyond the bare bones P3D, I narrowed it down to bglmanx64.dll - if I remove that entry from the add-on.xml from the Addon Manager folder, then P3D will launch just fine.
Obviously removing that entry is not a solution, since I'm aware it's needed in order for your products to run, but it does narrow it down.
So far I've tried:
- Rebooting
- Uninstalling and reinstalling both GSX, and Addon Manager on it's own
- Completely resetting my P3D v4 install back to it's defaults
- Ensuring that my "Prepar3D v4 Addons" folder contains nothing other than the files created by the FSDT installers
Now obviously something has gone wrong here somewhere, and clearly it's working correctly for other users but I'm at a loss on figuring out why it's crashing on my system.
Thanks in advance for any assistance! :)

This is the first report ever of this kind of crash. Do you have any antivirus installed by chance ? If yes, try to exclude the whole Addon Manager folder from scanning in the antivirus options.
-
I was rather afraid that I might be the first - up until today I don't think I've *ever* had an issue with Addon Manager either.
Only thing installed as far as antivirus etc, which is Windows Defender, although it's already disabled at the moment.
Just also tried completely uninstalling P3D, deleting all related files and then reinstalling with nothing else installed and had the same result. Still only starts if bglmanx64.dll isn't being loaded.

EDIT: I'm aware that this kind of issue is a pain for you to figure out, so if we haven't gotten anywhere by the time my other half wakes up in a few hours, I'll try an install on her PC (which has never had *any* version of FSX/P3D installed)
Edit 2: Tested on another machine and no error, so only my main PC has the issue. At a loss how to proceed from here

Try this:
- Uninstall every version of Visual C++ 2015 runtimes from the Control Panel:
- Download the latest version here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53587
- Install both the x86 AND the x64 versions
- RESTART Windows.
-
On it! I'll do that and report back.
Thanks
-
Sadly no change on that.
Installed runtimes are now as below:

I can confirm however, that wiping the entire machine, and installing nothing but FSX, P3Dv3 and P3Dv4, that it works. I've still got my existing Windows install on a secondary drive, but clearly *something* in the configuration was breaking compatibility between v4 and Addon Manager. (Strangely FSX + v3 on the same machine work fine)

that's the same exact error I getting to Umberto
???

Which seems to indicate you have the same problem in one of your system files of the OP, which said that on a clean Windows install, doesn't happen.
Have you tried the suggestion I already posted here above, to uninstall then reinstall the VC++ 2015 runtimes from the MS page ?
-
the thing is Umberto,
Everything works PPERFECT it my P3D v3.4 installation,. I just checked. if anything was up with the VS 2015 would it affect it too? and I'm on the latest and greatest VS2015 updates.
BTW in the scenery folder it shows all the airports in the list . it's just the addon manager that I see to be having a problem with on P3D V.4

Fact that it works with 3.4, instead, seems to precisely confirm what I say, that is something related to VC++ 2015 somehow.
This because, the 32 bit version of the Addon Manager, requires the 2013 version of the runtimes, while the 64 bit version requires the 2015 version. Not that we had any choice: the only way to do a Simconnect client .DLL in V4, is to compile against the 2015 version of the libraries.
and I'm on the latest and greatest VS2015 updates
Fact you install them once, doesn't guarantee they might have gone bad, corrupted, conflicted. Which is why, I told you to TRY uninstalling and reinstalling them. Have you tried that ?
-
updated both x86, and 64. that didn't work >:( you want to teamviewer this sir?

Another question first: which folder you installed the Addon Manager into ?
-
It's in C:\ Programs Files, (x86) I just went with the default since I was having issues
It appears the only thing not loading is the manager. all Airport and even SODE loads up. just the addon Manager kills it. I removed it from the list in the add-on.cfg file and Prepar3d4 work as normal
-
That's exactly the same as I experienced. I'm going back to my original Windows install later today to see if I can get any further with fixing it, as I really don't fancy the hassle of re-installing all my other software just for the sake of fixing GSX/Addon Manager.
Hopefully now with more than one of us experiencing the problem, then a common factor can be found and we can get it fixed properly - wiping the computer isn't a practical solution.
EDIT: Back on my original install now, and back to not working. What's interesting that I originally installed KCLT and it worked, I then added GSX and it stopped work. Since then it's never worked again on this install. Also the problem apparently occurs even if *only* Addon Manager is installed. I tried the standalone installer rather than installing it via GSX or a scenery installer, and still get the same crash every time
-
I start losing track of this discussion. @d00nicus you have a crash ONLY on exit, right ? @FireCapt, you have a crash at start ? If this is the case, then please open two separate threads, each one with a proper title, and continue posting there.
-
Nope, both on start as far as I can follow FireCapt's issue.
And both seem to only occur if bglmanx64.dll is being loaded

Further update:
To rule out corruption of system files, I used Microsoft's DISM tool to compare and re-download any system files that don't match their proper checksums (DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth) and then an SFC verfication and restore (sfc /scannow), so all system files have been verified as correct and unmodified, and all Windows Updates are also installed.
Windows Defender remains disabled during testing.
