I have the famous runtime error installing GSX / addon manager. Would it be okay for me to send you the .xml-files to have a look at them, I think they are corrupt  :-\

What do you mean with "famous". You cannot expect we would be able to change an already-corrupted file, trying to do this on an illegal XML file, would destroy it.

What's the precise, exact, text of the error ? It should be obvious, from the error, where the problem is.
