Post by: mr_loly_pop on August 11, 2016, 08:40:08 pm
Hi

i have FSX and P3D v3 and they run quite well but i have problem with the GSX

The GSX wont load in the addons it will show in the addon manager but it will not show in the TOP BAR

the problem is that once i install it will work and might work for a day or just 1 or 4 reopen of the SIM or if i restart my computer the GSX will stop loading

the worst part this happen to both the SIMs FSX and P3D and each time i have to use it i have to make it sure i have to install GSX again and run the installer first then run the sim

I am using Windows 10 64bit and i have a fresh install of these sims also even now it behaving the same

can someone help me out what is the problem or is there a support for this

thankx

Please try to be more clear, I don't fully understand this sentence.

Its a simple thing that i have to install the GSX after 3 to 4 days of use of it and after that it just wont load in the Addons

GSX doesn't obviously "unload" itself, if it was installed successfully once.

The only possible reason for this is an external interference from another program, most likely an antivirus which must be configured to exclude the FSX folder from scanning. This is just the most common problem, so try that first.

I have had the same problem. I had gsx working great but then I updated and nothing worked. I tried a fresh install of fsx and gsx with all anti-virus software off but it still didn't work. I then turned off scanning but still no luck. Is there any other way to fix this as I have tried everything suggested. I use FSX steam edition on windows 10 64bit.

I too have the same problem. GSX installs ok and I can see it sitting on the drive.
But once in FSX-SE I go to add-on and the SODE only shows a message about Jetways being enabled. There's no GSX and the default ground equipment is still present.
I recently reloaded FSX-SE and downloaded the latest version with the SODE installer. I tried again with all anti virus off but this still doesn't fix it. Can someone at Dreamteam sort this issue out? I'm running FSX-SE with Windows 10.

Before you say "I have the same problem", there are several things to check before you can really say the problem is the "same".

Do you have the Addon Manager and the GSX menus under the "Addons" menu ?

It's possible that installing another non-FSX:SE compliant addon has messed up your registry keys. Please check this post to verify they are correct:

http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,14166.msg104727.html#msg104727

After you ensured the registry keys are correct, as indicated in that post, reinstall GSX, and use ONLY the latest FULL installer.

I do have the Addon Manager but i dont see GSX under it

A problem with antivirus is the most common cause for missing Add-on Manager or Couatl and GSX menus so, first try the following procedure:

- Go into Control Panel, Uninstall GSX and reply YES to the questions "Do you want to remove the Addon Manager ?" and reply YES to the question "Do you want to remove the Couatl script engine ?"

- TURN YOUR ANTIVIRUS OFF.

With the antivirus still disabled, reinstall GSX. Use the latest full GSX installer on our site.

- BEFORE launching the sim, configure the antivirus to exclude the following files from scanning:

YourFSXFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourFSXFolder\fsdreamteam\Couatl\Couatl.exe

- Now you can turn your Antivirus on, and launch the sim.

- Note if FSX asks permission to run the Addon Manager and the Couatl programs, reply YES to both. PAY ATTENTION TO THIS.

- When FSX loads, check if you have BOTH the "Addon Manager" and the "Couatl powered products" under the "Addons" menu.

I have no idea if you have read what i meantion

I obviously have. You said you have the Addon Manager, but you are missing the GSX (and I guess the Couatl menu too) menu so, you are missing a menu, which it's usually (99% of the times) due to the antivirus.

if i install GSX and RUn P3D for the time GSX will work and it work normal as full version not the trial mode and when i start the operations of GSX the operators are different everytime for example if i am in india and flight Air India or indigo it should have

This is an entirely different issue, and it's normal you would see different operators each time, if both have the same score on any given airport.

So, you said the first time you launch the sim, GSX works. Could you please check, using the Task Manager, if maybe the Couatl.exe program is still running, after you EXIT the sim ?

No Sir Coualt.exe is not running after i exit the sim

Does it work after a Windows restart, WITHOUT reinstalling it ?

Check your FSX.CFG, under the [Trust] section, and remove all the lines that contains a reference to Couatl.exe, than save the file back and restart FSX.

P3D dosent now have trusted section

But you said yourself you have both FSX and P3D so, please, be more clear:

- Do you have the problem in both sims ? If yes, just try the suggested solution to FSX first

- Do you have the problem in P3D only, instead ?

I have Decided to make a clean installation once again and this time with the windows 10 and its a huge job for me to clean install everything

In fact, it's really useless because, if you keep fresh-reinstalling without getting to know the cause, you will never know what the problem was in the first place.

Why you want to reactivate each time ? There's no need to.

Coz i never wanted the courroped registry in the system that might cousing this to run properly

Your problem doesn't have anything to do with the activation. If activation got lost for some reason, the software will run normally, just with the affected products reverting to Trial mode.

If the problem had something to do with the activation, and required deactivating/reactivating to troubleshoot it, I would have clearly said so.

Sir i have updated the First post and tired to share the pictures what exectly the problem is i have taken the steps also to removing all that but the problem is the same even with the Fresh installation

You still haven't replied to my last question:

- Do you have the *same* problem in FSX and P3D ?

Yes i do i have same problem with FSX also and both the SIms are installed same computer same drive.

So, forget about P3D not having the [Trust] section, and work on FSX. Follow my instructions, to remove all references to Couatl.exe, than save the file back and restart FSX, and see if you are being asked permission to run it now.

This thread here indicates all known causes for the missing menus for the Addon Manager or Couatl:

The post where the link and discription is given i understand if the manager have issues

No, as I've said, it covers every solution we found to be working for any missing menus, both the Addon Manager AND Couatl. You are missing just Couatl, so that's covers it too.

Other than these steps, I really don't know what the problem is. You said you must reinstall it each time, then it works. Well, the installer FIXES some things in the registry that shouldn't be set, like Compatibility mode for FSX, maybe you enabled it, or you have another addon that mistakenly set a Compatibility mode for FSX, that would explain why running our installer fix the problem.

well then i will leave you guys in a peace and stop buying your products coz i can see no good help is coming from here also eventually i will find the way somehow and i will post and make it update but not on this forums also i am very sad from the support right now

thankx for nothing [/quote]

"Nothing" ??? How you could be SO WRONG ??? How could you possibly even *think* we haven't supported you ? You are confusing getting support, with having the problem fixed. You HAVE been given support but, of course, how are we supposed to fix something that nobody ever reported before, so it's clearly a specific problem that happens on your system only ?

I spent a great deal of time replying to you, and your "thanks for nothing" it's just a slap in the face, and it's just so wrong...

but you forget that i also invested money on this product which is not working from the day 1 so pls dont say that you have invested the time and support is something what i would get a solution for it

First, I remind you that all our products are available in TRIAL VERSION, and this is clearly indicated all over our site. The whole point of having a Trial version, is that you can install and try the product BEFORE purchasing it so no, it's not possible to waste money on a product that "doesn't work", since we gave you every change to test it does.

Since there are just too many things that can go wrong, especially on Windows, especially with Flight simulator with so many addons that can potentially conflict one with each other, there's no way we could ever try them all so, there's nothing better than offering a Trial version, so you can be sure it works on YOUR system.

But that's besides the point. Of course you want a solution but, how are we supposed to help, when NOBODY as ever reported a similar problem before ? That doesn't give you the right to complain about the "lack of support", because you HAVE been supported, to the best of our abilities, but just because we don't know what might cause this, since (as I've said), it's the FIRST time ever someone describes it, doesn't mean the support is "lacking", just your problem simply escapes us.

Have you finally reinstalled Windows from scratch, as you said you wanted to do ?

okay what i personaly think is i have problems for running the 32bit exe files they just somehow stop working this can happen to any of the program i have another laptop with windows 7 with Active Sky 2016 that program also stop working all in sudden after some days and gives be a error of the 32bit program but after the reinstall the program it works for some time

So, basically, you are saying you have the SAME problem ( a program stops working after a while, and require a reinstall ) with other programs too, yet you went on and on in this thread discussing about how "bad" our customer support is, just because we don't know how to fix a problem that is affecting OTHER products too ?

The only thing I can think of, is that some of the Compatibility modes are being enabled automatically by Windows for some programs, maybe after a crash.

And yes, we DO fix them when reinstalling, which explains why the problem seems to be fixed when reinstalling. The registry keys which controls this is the following one:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers

Be sure NOTHING related to FSX is on that section.

I dont want to type it all again why i am upset with all this and we all are here and what you are here for.. Read it back what you said on the point when you said you cant understand the problem. Related to my genocide i am still now holding buy products from untill i get a solution who want to spend money if the product is not working ?

I'll just type it for you. This is what YOU just said:

This basically close the question. Active Sky 2016, according to YOUR OWN report, is doing EXACTLY what you reported on GSX: works for a while, then you must reinstall it.

I don't know what else to say. The only "not working" product here, is your Windows installation, on both PCs, it seems. I'm closing the topic, since it clearly doesn't have anything to do with GSX.
