sorry to say, but the way These updates are handled sucks...
- So I start up fsx and begin preparing the aircraft
- Comes a popup: Install latest Version of coatl, don't have to leave the Simulator
- It installs and says: bglmanx is not uptodate, have to update the addon Manager
- GSX not available anymore without exiting fsx.....oh man
- and the best: It takes 8 minutes to download 12 MB (that normaly takes 3 seconds with my Connection).

Having the same problem at KDEN. Only I got the "Flight Simulator encountered a problem and needs to shut down" error. I tried downloading the Stand Alone Addon Manager and installing it but it seemed to be hanging up while installing the C++2013 Runtime files. I ended the installation twice, then tried a 3rd time and while I was reading your post about the 8 minutes it finally finished. I'll see if it works now. I don't get around to flying very often and it sure is frustrating when I get stopped by a problem like this!

I ran the COATL update this morning and there seems to be a problem:
Python 2.7.6 Stackless 3.1b3 060516 (default, Feb 19 2015, 15:56:51) [MSC v.1800 32 bit (Intel)] wxPython 3.0.2.0
couatl v3.1 (build 3516)

Confirmed. Have a problem too with Couatl since an update I installed today.
It keeps restarting constantly by <unknown> addon.

Already discussed and answered here: you haven't updated the Stand-Alone Addon Manager when prompted:

The message didn't said just that, it also said to download and install the current Stand-Alone Addon Manager, which would fix the problem, caused by the fact you haven't updated it when the update notification about a major update came last week.
