Is that Jimi's latest version? v16.1?
If not, it isn't THE very best Hornet you can get. Pay OR freeware, ANY sim version.
Jimi and Team are some amazing developers, I swear. Often  :D  :o  ;D

Fantastic!
I tell ya, I am a Jimi and FSDT fanatic. Someone even hints at F/A-18's in a forum I just go ballistic singing the praises of Jimi's birds. Not to mention Mr. Orion's vLSO and AICarriers.NET. All of them are amazing to me, and make such an immense improvement in the Sim, I still can't believe they're FREEWARE!!
I am really glad they are, don't get me wrong, just hard to believe such incredible softwares are FREE! I sincerely and deeply hope they stay that way too!

Have fun!

Not to mention Mr. Orion's vLSO and AICarriers.NET.

I don't have anything to do with vLSO, unless you count asking Paddles for alternate font support (to replace the handwriting style font in the debrief).

I also can't take all the credit for AI Carriers .NET either: the code is nearly identical to that of AICarriers2r2, which was originally created Lamont Clark (lc0277).  I simply rewrote what was needed to use the .NET Framework instead of Java.  Without Lamont Clark's original work I wouldn't have had anything to work with in the first place.

And, I'd wager, worth every penny  ;D
Enjoy it, whatever it cost.

Mr. Orion, you may not have originally written the code for AICarriers.NET, but whatever you did to it makes it work better, for me anyway.
I can honestly say I did try vLSO a few times, but until I get a lot better at carrier landings I don't use it any more. They AI LSO's in that program are just downright mean. I am sure they are very accurate to real life, but just too mean and nasty in their evaluations of me to keep it running  ;)
Once I think I am good enough, I will start running with it again.

I will say, however, that either I am getting better at CQ's, or the v16.1 Hornet is a much better plane for them, or both. Since I started flying in it, I have made huge leaps forward in landing aboard a boat correctly. It just seems to do what I need when I need it a lot better than previous iterations of the Hornet.

Have fun all! And I still think Mr. Orion is too modest by half, as the British like to say.
