Gentlemen,
I've not flown the '18 but was a USAF pilot(a long time ago).
Is the excessive(?) speed brake pitchup normal for the A model?
Thanks.

Thanks for the top notch info, Razgriz. The bird shows a much better behaviour now. Do you also know how air-files can be opened/edited? I' ve tried to open it with wordpad but just found some hieroglyphic stuff ...

Is there another AIR file available? When I tried to use this one it says "File damaged try downloading again."
I've tried but keep getting the same message.

Razgriz,
Will the fix that you posted the link to work with the Captain Sim FA-18D or is this only for the Acceleration FA-18A?

I have just tried it, and it works perfectly.

Seems to be working fine for me using the Accel Hornet. I like it.

It should still work, seeing as the A and D models in FSX are using the same Flight Models.

It does, I confirmed it.

When I installed this fix it never fixed the problem. The nose still pithes up when ever I extend the speed brake. Does anybody know how to fix this besides that download? Maybe I put it in the wrong place?

Being that it's an .AIR file, all you should have to do is place it in your F18 Folder. The path is as follows:
Microsoft/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight SimulatorX/Sim Objects/Aircraft (or Airplanes)/F18
It should ask you if you want to replace the current file. Click yes. Then you will have to exit and restart FSX for the change to take effect. Hope this helps.
