Title: Blinking PAPI - P3D v2.5 - CYVR v1.4.0
Post by: danielsjam on May 07, 2015, 05:56:04 pm
I have blinking/flashing PAPI at CYVR v1.4.0, same issue at kjfk v2.3.2.  Attaching a zip file that contain a small short video of the problem.  Notify me if you need additional information.

Thanks

James

That's not a "problem", but a scenery FEATURE, and of course it's explained in the manual, and it's called FAROS:

http://rwsl.ll.mit.edu/DFW/FAROS.html

The blinking PAPI indicates the runway is occupied. In this case, by your own airplane, but it works for AI too.

You might be mislead thinking it's a "bug", because no other sceneries out there have those features, which are made possible by the fact PAPIs in our later sceneries are 100% custom, driven by the Couatl Python scripting engine.

Thanks, that make sense and it's always wise to read the manual first.
