Hello,
First thank you for the great addons and great support.
I have a quick question I have not seen anything on face book or here yet about it. I had a new update come up for the virtuali addon manager so I down loaded it and tried to install it but it throws this message up: "Sim .EXE file version is 10.0.61637.0 - This product requires FSX Steam Edition to be installed".
I did not continue with the update as I am running the old FSX.
1) Should I install this anyway? I ma not planning on getting Steam FSX version for now.
2) Where can I get the normal FSX Virtuali Addon Manager in future if I need to reinstall? I over wrote the old file with the new Virtuali addon mamanger.exe file.
Cheers
Sebastian

Sorry, there was a bug in the installer, download it again now if you don't use FSX:SE

Still getting the same message as in post 1. Addon Manager downloaded from http://www.fsdreamteam.com/products_addonmanager.html at 1445Z.

Hi Umberto,
Just re-downloaded the installer and it is still bringing up the same message as before I am afraid.
Cheers

It's all fixed, try to clear your browser cache before downloading again.
-
Nope, sorry to say that I still get the "Steam"-versions. This is after clearing the cache and rebooting.
-
Cleaned browser cache per these instruction at https://kb.wisc.edu/page.php?id=15141. Ran CClearner. Addon Manager still looking for steam.
-
Hello Umberto,
As the above post cleaned the cache same issue. I just tried another PC on my network and still the same problem.
I am sure will get over this hickup soon enough.
Merry Christmas to all,
Seb

Same problem here, everything FSDT is messed up, hope it gets resolved soon.
-
I can only repeat and confirm the problem was fixed with with latest installer. Check the digital signature date of the installer: it must be December 20th, time 20:05.
-
Cleaned cache, rebooted and downloaded again. I still get the "Steam"-version of both the Vancouver 1.4-patch and the standalone addon-manager as downloaded from the Vnacouver-page. Digital signature of the Vancouver-patch is 20 december, 20:10h.
-
I can only repeat and confirm that, with that version, the problem doesn't happen and the installation will go in FSX normally. If you have the Steam edition, they will ask if you want to install there. If you don't have it, you won't see any question and the installation will go into FSX.
I tried it just now with both the Stand-Alone Addon Manager installer and the CYVR installers. They all work fine.
-
Okay, just to be clear: the installers still throw up the message the OP mentioned, but I can ignore that message and it will install into the "regular" FSX?

The current installers don't show that message and no, you can't ignore it. As I've said, if you don't have FSX Steam edition, you won't see ANY message, except one that will just say the installation will go into FSX, but that's not an error, and surely doesn't look like one.

Here's the deal now. Downloaded Addon Manager on a stand alone computer that has FSX installed. Ran as admin and it installed fine. I figure this is good installer. So I burned it to a CD. Took it to the main computer. Copied it into the Downloads folder, ran it as admin and it's still looking for steam. Explain that.

You don't have the latest installer. Download it again, and be sure it's the current version ( 1.9.0.4 )

Hello Umberto, Version 1.9.0.4 you mention is it for Vancouver scenery?
I am still having the Steam message after trying all your suggestions.
1) Digital signature of the last downloaded Addon Manager I have is 22 December 2014 23:24:17
2) I launch the installer message comes up "Sim .EXE version is 10.0.61637.0 - This product requires FSX Steam Edition to be installed" I press okay.
3) New messsage comes up "The installation will go to FSX located at E:\FSX" This is where I have my FSX installed on a separate drive E:\FSX. I do not have FSX STEAM. I press OKAY
4) New installer message "This will install VIRTUALI Addon ManagerX version 2.9.0.25 on your computer......." I have the option to click on NEXT or CANCEL.
Umberto as the installer is correctly finding my FSX install can I go ahead and install this update or not?
Lastly has anyone installed the update and ignored the Steam message? Is your FSX okay?
Cheers

Hello Umberto, Version 1.9.0.4 you mention is it for Vancouver scenery?
No, that would be GSX, sorry.
I am still having the Steam message after trying all your suggestions.
That's not possible, you must have some kind of registry keys mismatch in your system.
2) I launch the installer message comes up "Sim .EXE version is 10.0.61637.0 - This product requires FSX Steam Edition to be installed" I press okay.
It *seems* you HAVE the registry keys for the Steam version, they point to the FSX location and, since there's a regular FSX.EXE, the installer is telling you can't install there in "Steam mode"
Umberto as the installer is correctly finding my FSX install can I go ahead and install this update or not?
I'd say you can go ahead and proceed, because even if the installer found the Steam keys in the registry, it's not trying to install in Steam mode (because there's an standard FSX.EXE there), but in FSX mode.

Hi Umberto,
Super fast reply thank you.
I think we are almost there.

I keep getting Version 2.9.0.25 which I believe is for steam as recent as 15 minutes ago from this site http://www.fsdreamteam.com/products_addonmanager.html.
Yesterday I installed 2.9.0.25 by clicking OK rather than cancelling the message and not doing the install. It installed with no error message. I flew into KLAX and didn't see any problems Heading to KJFK now. If I have a problem I will let you know.

No problems with KJFK. 4R, taxiway C, and cargo area north of 31R were fine. It was almost dark and raining hard. That's all I could see.
