Title: Runway Lights View Distance
Post by: bjratchf on November 23, 2014, 08:41:20 am
Does anyone know which setting is used to control the view distance from the lights? From about a 10 mile final, the airport still is dark- any way to increase the load distance?

The airport loading range has been carefully selected to be sure that when you load JFK, most of Manhattan and KLGA are not loaded, this is made for the obvious reason to save fps and prevent Out of Memory errors, which would have been *very* likely in the N.Y. area, especially if you go there with a memory-hungry 3rd party airplane add-on.

So no, in case of JFK, you must live with the current loading range, which is about 7.0 NM.
