I cannot get FSDT to start up. It states that an addon is preventing it to start up. I read some posts that stated that an antivirus program could cause some problems so I made an exception to allow it to run. I then totally disabled the antivirus but neither helped. I ran the live update and it completed it without any trouble but the error continues to plague me. Here is a copy of the error message:
couatl v3.1 (build 3577)

Any thoughts??

You error log is from January 2018 so, it's surely not relevant here.
I'm sure this is not the error you are seeing now and, what you are seeing, is likely the message which says the antivirus might cause a problem, is this correct ?
-
I had to change out my HD so it might've been that long. I copied and pasted the error-- that's exactly what it says. After I close out it gives me a message to "make an exception" in my antivirus program... to which I did but couatl still won't start.

I copied and pasted the error-- that's exactly what it says.
I'm sorry, but there's no way you could see an error log from January today so, you must seeing a different error now.
-
So, what do I need to do get it to run again? I've deleted it and re-installed but it keeps giving me grief. :'(
-
Then please post the error message you are seeing now, which is surely not the one from many month ago.

Here is what I get when it tries to load:

What do I need to do now?

Maybe there's a permission issue in your system, so the error log cannot be updated. Try to remove this file:
%APPDATA%\Virtuali\Couatl.err
and see if the error message changes.

Now I get this:
couatl v3.2 (build 4061)

This confirms precisely what I suspected: you DO have a permission problem that you cannot even write in your own user profile, which is not normal, of course.
First thing to try is:
- Remove the whole %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder
- REINSTALL GSX.
-
THAT DID IT!! :D
Now, what's going on with me not being able to write to my user profile. I'm the admin. ???
