I wanted to install DFW, but I can't!
I downloaded it three times, and always after launching the .exe, I confirm I have admin rights, and nothing happens afterwards... :-\
Any suggestions? I also have cleared my internet cache before downloading...
EDIT: I just downloaded KFLL and it was the same issue...What can I do?

You probably haven't waited enough and, very likely, launched the installer 2-3 times, and this will create problems.
Reboot Windows, launch the installer, confirm to run it when you get the window asking permissions to run, and wait a bit. The installer will need to uncompress all contained files into a temporary folder and this (especially if you have an antivirus active) can take a while.
If still doesn't work, it's possible to activate a diagnostic on the installer, that might help understanding what's wrong on your system that prevent it to run:
which has some diagnostic options that can be enabled this way:
- Open a command prompt. Press the Windows Start button, type "CMD" then Enter in the white area. A command prompt will open, and it should be pointing to your Home folder, which is something like:
C:\Users\yourname (yourname, of course, is your login name)
- You need to go to the folder you have downloaded the kdfw_fs9_setup.exe For example, if you have downloaded in, let's say, on the Desktop, you need to do this:
CD Desktop
this should change the current working folder as follows:
C:\Users\yourname\Desktop
So, assuming the kdfw_fs9_setup.exe file in this folder, type the following:
kdfw_fs9_setup.exe /LOG
then press Enter
Wait a little bit and then open the temporary folder in Explorer, just select again the Start button, type %TEMP% in the white area and press Enter. Your Temporary folder should open.
Seeif you have a file named Setup Log 2010-12-20 #001.txt in that folder and, if you have it, please Attach it here, so we can check it.

That's your problem: your Windows registry key for FS9 is corrupt, and doesn't point to the folder FS9 is installed into.

Okay...How can I solve this?
I already used Flight1-registry repair. :-\
-
I now tried the registry-fix again, and now I can install DFW! ;D
Now I have to buy it within the 30%-off-period...
Thanks for your help Umberto!
