Hi all,
Since I reinstalled GSX, everytime I start FSX I have a message with "couatl.exe has stopped working in an unusual way".
So I checked which .dll is not working, it is wrap_oal.dll. A little search on this support forum and I found this (http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=6293.msg55159#msg55159).
I tried every solution in this topic, but nothing is working.
I hope you can help me.
Thanks,
Luc

I'm sorry, but we don't have anything to add other than the solutions posted here:

Which is the same thread you found. It's not a GSX problem, it's an audio drivers problem, your audio drivers have probably issues supporting the standard OpenAL library, which GSX uses. If your audio drivers make OpenAL crash (which is what is happening), there's nothing we can do from our side.
Try again all the solution posted in that thread:
- that download from Creative (OALINST.ZIP) linked there
- try to change your audio drivers, try to use the default Windows ones instead of the mainboard ones, or vice-versa, use the mainboard ones (or those of your audio card, if you have a separate audio card) and not the Windows ones.
- try resetting the GSX preferences located at %APPDATA%\Virtuali\Couatladdons.ini, maybe this will make it switch to a non-bugged audio device.

I tried every solution you gave me, nothing worked. I'm without my GSX :'(
Are you sure there isn't any other solution ?

If I knew about it, I would already indicated it. I'm sorry, but this is entirely out of our control: if your audio driver has issues supporting OpenAL, there's nothing GSX can do to fix it, just like if your video drivers had troubles with DirectX or OpenGL, a game using such libraries can't fix it from its own side.
Do you have other copies of the wrap_oal.dll in your system ?

No, the only wrap_oal.dll's are in system32 and in the GSX folder.

Try to remove the one in system32 and test in FSX. If that doesn't work, reinstall the OALINST.ZIP file

Okay I will try, thanks. :)
