GSX Level 2 will be able to integrate SODE Jetways at every airport. Will it still be possible to use the Jetways which come with the airport product, or do we have to use the jetways from GSX in order to make GSX work?
-
- At default airports, ALL jetways will be replaced by SODE jetways automatically, with the ability to customized them.
- At 3rd party airports that use default (CTRL+J) jetways, you must explicitly tell GSX which parking spots should have replaced jetways.
- At 3rd party airports that use SODE jetways, nothing will be replaced.

Is it possible to have the last potion of the jetway turned on a closer angle to the airplane instead of having it straight inline with the rest of the bridge, when the Jetway is in its dormant "non activated" state? Similar to how jet bridges look between aircraft usages?

It's technically possible and nothing in GSX or SODE prevents this.
However, it will look bad because, when the jetway is not active, is replaced by a static model, with huge fps advantages. The fps will collapse if all jetways were "movable" and movable means a jetway that is not currently moving, but CAN move, which is different than a static jetway.
This means the static jetway must be exactly the same as the movable jetway in the default position, otherwise you'll see a "jump" when the jetway starts to move, because at that time is replaced by movable jetway.

Umberto, I guess it's safe to assume this will add SODE even to FSDT airports that have not yet been updated for a refreshed look. IE jfk, hnl, ord, lax, fll?

Yes, of course. We'll probably provide those files with the expansion: they are just GSX .INI files with new jetways definitions so, they are very easy to distribute and share.
