Hi, anyone know if Dreamteam plans an update with the new KORD runways 09L/27R?

Thanks,
John

Look around the forums/do a search of the forums.

This has already been answered numerous times. ::)

There needs to be sufficient documentation and material and images for them to update it.

They know how much we want 9L/27R. They're working on it.

...

But when, When, WHEN!?!?!?

Guys,

Could you please at least advise when do you plan start working on extension to 10/28 and new 9L/27R, after KLAS or later?....Badly, badly needed update for AI distribution.

As we said, many times already, when KLAS will be released, we'll start looking into what resources are available (we need lots of updated pictures, aerial pictures, 3d aerial pictures )  to made the update, and then we'll have a better idea of when it will be released.

I'll see what I can get when I tour the tower/s in the middle of may.  My buddy just got checked out there.  I would assume some good shots from the tower catwalk would be useful.

Well, I couldn't get out on the catwalk, and frankly, you can't even see most of the north runway from the central tower, so I wouldn't have gotten anything remotely usable.  I didn't realize how huge that airport was until I got up there.  I mean, that's a big tower, and you can barely see the edges of the field.

Just for info.... Runway 28 is displaced about 3200 feet, but only to replace some concrete unrelated to the expansion of the airport. the next runway is going to be 28L/10R, and there are some outlines of dirt for some of the taxiways where Lake Ohare used to be and just west of the cargo.  The cargo ramps aren't going to be moved for a while, and then after that, the 32s will close.  Someone will just have to sit on the right side of the plane landing on 27R to get a good shot of the new concrete at the end of 10.  Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Already explained a couple of posts above. The main thing is detailed aerial photos.

It sounds like the update could be many months away, if not years. This is NOT a complaint, just an observation. Great work FSDT!

First lets take a breather. FSDT has by far the best KORD airport and customer service. Although we all want these new runways, I'd rather have it done right then to have a half ass job. virtuali  is it possible to modify the current KORD AFCAD until the new runway is done. Where take offs would be only on 22L / 22R,  and landings on 32L/ 32R that should solve most problems of go arounds and back up. Please keep the parking assignments the same. Its worth a try. (The option should be open to select which runway you want as well).

This is a good one as well: http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6344395

I've been looking at airports in Google Earth a bit these days, many of them have new imagery dates, as recent as June even. Unfortunately, KORD is still old KORD.

Very disappointing. In November the new runway will be in operation for two years already...

So, just looking at Google Earth some more (tweaking the Afcads, again...), default KORD Imagery Date is Oct 11, 2007.

If you click on the Clock symbol you can switch between Imagery Dates. Hit the back button once and you'll get an Imagery Date of Oct 7, 2009! With new runway, runway extension and various taxiway changes (there have been a lot of those, it amazes me, compare the scenery with the latest FAA Airport Diagram). I think this data is not used by default because it appears to be of a slightly lesser quality, but it's better than nothing.

Looking at the new runway, it seems they're getting good use out of it.

;)

Any comments from the developper team on the new runways?

Thanks!

Realistically speaking, a KORD update would include the new runway and connecting taxiways. And the 10/28 extension.

There have been numerous changes south of 10/28 and on the 28 end, but I think most of us would already be happy with the above. Perhaps the rest can be indicated with some under construction sand/dirt like the above is visible in the scenery now.

We already said in another thread we have started working on the KORD update:

http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=3480.msg30282#msg30282

There are no release dates so please, don't ask, we'll announce it when it's ready.

Good news in both previous posts.

Chicago isn't wasting any time, that's for sure.

Will include updated runways for sure, because that's what we said we would do. Anything extra, is not certain.
