Number containers

Hello,

in the first, congratulations for your work for GSX.

I did a test to check the number of containers for the loading Level-D B767 cargo

Example (data of FSX):
Passenger Zone A      2184 lbs (991 kgs)
Passenger Zone B      12768 lbs (5792 kgs)
Passenger Zone C      11592 lbs (5258 kgs)
Passenger Zone D      12096 lbs (5487 kgs)
TX: 38640 lbs
Note: for Level-D, the passenger weight is 168 lbs = 230 passengers

Cargo Hold 1      2413 lbs (1095 kgs)
Cargo Hold 2      2021 lbs (917 kgs)
Cargo Hold 3      3043 lbs (1380 kgs)
Cargo Hold 4      1267 lbs (575 kgs)
Cargo Hold 5      592 lbs (269 kgs)
TX: 9336 lbs

payload: 47976 lbs

Estimate number of passengers by GSX: 47976/220 lbs = 218 passengers => OK
Estimate number of containers LD2 by GSX: 47976/2700 lbs = 4 containers maximum => not OK there are 10 containers for the loading cargo
regardless of the weight, always 10 containers.

Please, what is the calculation to determine the number of containers.

Thanks for the answer.

Marc.

As the GSX manual says, when discussing how the number of passengers figure is handled:

"Any operation that involves time, it's scaled down by a factor by GSX, in order to make the process less tedious"

So, for the same reasons you won't see hundreds of bags being loaded on a 767 with 230 passengers, you won't see the exact number of containers, because everything is scaled down compared to reality, because nobody would want to watch 30-40 minutes of a real loading schedule.

So, the number of bags and containers is still RELATED to the number of passengers, so you will see a difference between airplane models and between an full/empty plane, but nowhere we say it matches reality 1:1

Hello,

I understand your answer.
It would be logical to determine the number of containers according to the payload as you do for the number of passengers.
which would give a ratio of the number of passengers / number of containers based on the number of passengers calculated by GSX.

without consequence on the simulation.

Thanks.

Marc.

As I've already said in my previous message:

So, the number of bags and containers is still RELATED to the number of passengers

This is exactly what GSX already does. It's just not 1:1 with reality, but scaled down so, IT IS proportional to the estimated number of passengers.
