Cannot install
« on: March 19, 2008, 12:56:15 am »
When trying to run ohare9_setup.exe, I get the following message:

c:\program files\microsoft games\flight simulator 9\modules\bglman.dll

an error occurred while trying to replace the existing file:
DeleteFile failed; code 5
access is denied

Hi,

as the error say: "DeleteFile failed; code 5 access is denied" I would say: Did you run the FS while you run the setup? Maybe the FS not correct stopped. Try to reboot your PC before you run the setup again.

Also, check that bglman.dll file is not write protected (might happen if you restored it from a CD backup). Although this is more unlikely: Oliver's suggestion probably should solve the issue in most cases.

I'm not sure what you mean. Should FS9 be running while trying to install?

Not, that's the opposite: you need to ensure FS9 is not running and it has been closed properly, before launching the installer, otherwise it will lock access to all its already opened files. Rebooting before trying to install will surely fix it.

It's only when you Buy the product, that you do it with FS9 running, but not the installation.

Thank you for the replies. The scenery is now installed and activated and I'm exploring.
