Jonathan, I think after a year of frustration with Nice X, I have finally put it's performance issues behind me. Last night I was fiddling around with the textures, once again, at that airport and decided to convert all the ground, terminal, hanger, and other large building textures to DXT1 w/mips. For the first time since I have owned that airport, I am now getting FPS in the mid to high 30's which prior to that I have been limited to about 25 FPS. I took out the PMDG 747 which is about the most FPS hungry a/c I own and flew a couple times around the pattern with it and FPS stayed in the 30's for the most part the whole time.
I'm guessing that for whatever reason, the DTX5 textures at that airport were giving me problems. Not sure why since FSDT and FT use DXT5's but at Nice X it was killing me. Maybe it was taking up too much VRAM, not sure, but now I can use the airport. It had been unusable for me for about a year and now that I got it working well, it almost like I just got a new airport to fly to, lol.

Glad that you were able to get it to work. I have been asking some friends of mine about it, but no one was having any issues with it. I was going to buy it today to play around with, but I dont have to it seems. Enjoy it!

Hah, I guess I didn't see that! Thanks for keeping this thread going, nonetheless. For a while I thought it would be nice if someone had the ability to post a website or perhaps blog with an updated status on development progress. I'd like to see that someday. But for now, this topic as well as the one on aircraft are an excellent idea!
