FSDT Live Update not completing

I'm trying to work out why I have many bglmanx65.dll crashes. I googled the problem and the advice was to uninstall one FSDT product, uninstall Addon Manager and run FSDT Live Update to install things afresh.

I uninstalled Geneva for P3D and Addon Manager. I then downloaded the FSDT Live Update but after the initial screen a progress bar appears for a couple of seconds with a mention of GSX but then disappears off the screen.

The command line for the program is:-

C:\Program Files (x86)\Addon Manager\Couatl_Updater.exe

I have another shortcut with the following command line:-

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Addon Manager\Couatl_Updater.exe" /SILENT /INSTALLMODE=TRUE

That briefly shows a startup screen but then a very different FSDT Universal Installer screen shows in graphical form. All my purchases are shown as Active but pressing "Update All" does nothing. If I select Install one of my purchased airports a message appears saying to use the standard Updater. But doing that doesn't work.

I cannot run P3D with couatl64 running as it crashes. What has gone wrong simply with me uninstalling Geneva and Addon Manager?

When I start P3D once past the Scenario Menu the error message appears and if I show the log here it is:-

Having downloaded and run the P3D Live Updater installer after it finishes pressing OK loads the Update page which looks like it’s for MSFS, not P3D. If I click update for any airport it says this installer is not compatible with P3D.

After pressing OK it takes me to the P3D section of FSDT where I download the P3D installer and go around in circles.

This may explain why Live Updater is not working. I’m a user for more than 10 years and have never encountered this problem before.

I reckon that it is the fault of the GSX Pro Cabin Services Crew - vacuuming where they shouldn't vacuum and squirting their cleaning agent without due consideration for the bits and bytes!

Real pilots should not have to worry about these pesky things, the purser should take care of them!

@BaiterOne, that’s a feature only available in the Pro version for MSFS.

I've downloaded the Live Update executable for both P3D and MSFS. On examining the properties for each the filesize is exactly the same - 77,824,984.

I find it difficult to believe two different installers would have exactly the same number of bytes.

Hopefully this can be investigated and fixed Monday.

After further investigation I’ve come to the conclusion that the “Universal Installer” is just that. No separate one for P3D or MSFS.

This installer isn’t working and a MSFS user has reported on AvSim the update appears to have frozen.

Until this problem is fixed I’m unable to use GSX or my FSDT airports as couatl64.DLL crashes when P3D starts.

The Update problem is associated with Cloudflare, not with FSDT servers or my computer. Out of the hands of Umberto so I'll just be patient.

Who would have guessed that, considering its name...

Although it cannot install FSX/P3D products, it can surely updates them and, for the same reason, the OFFLINE installer works just as well for FSX/P3D if you suspect there might be issues caused by your local cloudflare node.

I last tried to run the Live Update yesterday with the same result. I’ll try again tomorrow. I’m in no great rush as I don’t really need the new map facility as I use Aivlasoft’s EFB which has that feature.
