Couatl64 failure
« on: September 12, 2025, 10:05:17 am »
Hi!
Long story short:
What's the reason for this?
Using MSFS 2024 latest stabile version(SU3) and all drivers up to date. Happens when starting a freeflight somewere in Gthe world after 3 to 10 minutes. After closing the message by pressing "ok" sim will work fine.
Thanks for your support!

Same here, reason unknown so far.
Tried with only an aircraft in community folder, tried without ANY airport profiles.
Updating and having installer "Check" the installation ....
Using ADDON Manager update ...

Nothing helps.
Seeing this at various airports / regions (overflying)  ...
Replicable at EDDF (AeroSoft) heading East (ETOU) and back ....

SU3, MSFS2024,

Please enable logging and attach a log after this error comes, it might indicate something.

I'm a long time user of your airports and GSX Pro. I'm was having a similar issue, but unfortunately I decided to uninstall GSX Pro before I saw this thread, so no GSX Pro logs. Here's the Windows event log entry:

What happens is when I'm in free flight stopped at a gate in MSFS 2024, I click on the GSX Pro icon from the taskbar, the window opens with the circular loading symbol, but never opens to the menu.  I then close the GSX Pro window. The sim didn't crash and was fine afterwards. I'm on Windows 11, nVidia 4080 super, 64 GB RAM and 581.29 drivers. The behavior was reproducible.

That crash it's in the .NET runtime, which the Couatl engine doesn't use directly (it's not a .NET app), but some of the 3rd party library we use to check the license (Soraco) are .NET, so it's likely the issue might be related to your .NET runtimes not installed, not updated, or some of the Windows udpates not installed.

- Try to be sure all your Windows updates are installed, restart Windows when asked.

- Uninstall the FSDT Universal Installer from the Windows Control Panel.

- Reinstall it and reinstall GSX.

Thanks. Will do. My Windows is on automatic update, so it's up to date. .NET version is 8.0.20.
