GSX issue during boarding MSFS 2024
« on: August 07, 2025, 07:06:46 pm »
Hello,  I have searched multiple forum topics to find if my exact issue has existed and I have yet to find an instance so here it goes.  What is happening is when I request boarding, after the prompt on whether or not to attach the tug, I select no which is GSX preference, one notice will pop up that boarding is starting and then the screen will go black momentarily and then will come back with brake released and engines running with a red notice saying that I crashed. I initially thought it would have something to do with the navigraph hub and simlink i had installed the evening prior but i have since uninstalled both and have experienced the same issue.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled GSX and the universal installer, no change.  I also thought it could be an issue with the airport Flightbeam KSFO. I installed the gsx profile for that airport, no change.   I have tried at several other airports and experience the same issue at the exact same time in the sequence. I feel like i am searching for a needle in a haystack as to what could be the issue.  For the record, GSX has worked perfectly recently until the recent update.  Reading the update log it looks like some issue close to mine was supposedly fixed in the update.  The aircraft i am using is the 787-9 from Bravo Airspace. I have used this aircraft successfully with GSX within the last week or so. Any guidance is much appreciated.

If the airplane crashed on the apron, it's usually caused by an (even slight) inaccuracy in its contact points in dynamic vs static cg mode, this can be usually noticed if you try to edit the airplane in GSX: if the gear is slightly raised or slightly buried on ground, it indicates there's a problem with the contact points, which would cause the airplane to crash when GSX freeze/unfreeze it when attaching the tug.

I have not altered anything related to this aircraft in GSX.  Wheels are not buried.  The issue happens after the prompt on whether or not to attach the tug but I select no to not attach the tug. I never get far enough to attach the tug before pushback as the crash happens about 10 seconds after that prompt.   As i said, its odd because just a few days prior everything was working perfectly. Yesterday when i started my flight i noticed there was a GSX update so i shut down the sim and updated it before proceeding. I reentered the sim and began setting everything up and decided to start boarding while i finished loading flight plan etc. and that is when i encountered the issue. I have tried it also leaving the aircraft cold and dark, no change.  I have also tried boarding again after the crash once GSX reloads.  It does the exact same thing at the exact interval.

Nowhere I said you altered it. It might just be like that.

I said "when you edit the aircraft in GSX". If you see wheels are either slightly buried or slightly raised, it's a tell-tell the contact points on the aircraft are not precise, which would risk a crash when frozen/unfrozen by GSX.

I understand you did not say that, i was just confirming to you that i did not. I would imagine if contact points were the issue i would have had this crash from the beginning. I have completed several flights using GSX with no problems at all. It seems it has been happening since the update on the 5th.  I dont know the details of the baggage loader issue that was fixed in the recent update but i have noticed when watching from the external view the crash happens when the baggage loader is at the exact same position driving behind the aircraft every time regardless of what airport i am at. Could this possibly have some effect?

Here are some screenshots of before it crashes, during the crash and what it shows after.  For due diligence i went into the aircraft editor in gsx to see if contact points would show the aircraft sunk or floating and it did not.

I just tried another aircraft and boarding seems to work fine with no crash so somehow it is aircraft related.  I am not sure what changed with that specific aircraft in a couple days time to cause this issue but none the less.

Problem solved.  I loaded a new GSX profile for the aircraft and it works fine.  I am not sure how it worked one day and not the next but none the less it works now.
