GROUND POWER P3DV5 FSLABS
BaiterOne:
Hi,
I must admit I am extremely disappointed with the response to this problem.
I can (almost) understand why we in the P3D community should not hold out breaths for the Lavatory Service or the Water Service.
What I cannot understand is why FSDT do not fix a problem which they caused.
The GPU used to work, now, after an update, it doesn't.
Why not spend just a little development time on it and make the 1% of your users very happy again (after all, we did pay for the product, just like the MSFS users did).

After nearly 6 weeks of posting a problem relating to the operation of GSX, I feel really let down by the developer for the lack of solution/reply to the issue.
The P3D community has been at the forefront of flight simulation for years and now that other options are available, we have been put on the back burner...
Very disappointing indeed as it would only require a little attention but I must say that it didn't happen.
May be a few lines to explain why would certainly reassure a customer and most certainly encourage confidence on the product.

Sadly, as Umberto has been saying, the most used simulators lately have been MSFS 2020 & 2024, so the tendency for add-on developers to focus on those games, leaving aside Prepar3D, X-Plane, and FSX.
We'll have to wait for the updates and fixes to be applied to these latter simulators, due to the global trend showing that people have been migrating to MSFS 2020 & 2024.
I'm sharing two images from the 2024 survey on the most used simulators by the global community. So we can see and try to understand that we have to settle for what we have right now in P3D, X-Plane, and FSX or move as others do and adopt the new simulators, MSFS 2020 or 2024.

Hi,
in reference to statements by Gevan in a previous post:
"try to understand that we have to settle for what we have right now in P3D, X-Plane, and FSX "
Up until a short while ago, we actually had in GSX, GPUs on call to visit our aircraft. Then someone in FSDT did an update which obviously contained an error which stopped this action from happening. Surely FSDT should make some realistic effort to rectify this error in the code.
By the way, for my own information, where on this P3DV5 support forum does it actually state that it is no longer a working support forum dealing with current problems with the product. I know it is probably here somewhere, I just cannot see a sticky pointing it out.
"move as others do and adopt the new simulators, MSFS 2020 or 2024."
When I bought P3D it was being hailed as the way forward in flight simulation. When MSFS 2020 was introduced reaction on the internet was mixed - was it a simulation or was it a game? When MSFS 2024 came out the question being asked, again on the internet, was how did we let MS sucker us into buying MSFS 2020 just for them to replace it with a new game a short while later? So I wonder what happens to all the MSFS 2020 and 2024 GSX users when MSFS 2028 comes out - will they be pushed out to the scrap heap like I feel us P3D users are now.
As it happened I was not in a situation where, having invested heavily in P3D sceneries and aircraft, I could make the move into MSFS 2020, or 2024 - my bad!
One of the last add-on packages I spent Euros on was Ground Services and Level 2, bought in December 2024, which are still advertised on simMarket as, and I quote:
"GSX, Ground Services for FSX it's a revolutionary new product that simulates several operations on ground, like Marshalling, Catering, Boarding/Deboarding of passengers and Baggages, Stairs, Refueling vehicles, Pushback with realistic behavior, Folllow Me cars, Docking System and more, all featuring many native FSX animations and belivable human characters."
In the spiel it offers "NEW Live Update feature, keep GSX always updated automatically, with new supported airplanes and airports!"
It doesn't mention updates which do away with existing features, like GPUs, for instance.
Nor does it mention that users of FSX and P3D are considered less important than MSFS users, so they will not be supported in a reasonable fashion.
I do not condemn the GSX product from FSDT at all.
I still use GSX on all my flights in P3DV5, I enjoy the extra realism it brings with refuelling, catering, pushback, marshalling and passenger boarding/deboarding.
I consider GSX an essential part of my flight simulation experience now.
I just miss my GPUs!
Foolishly perhaps, I still look forward to the GPUs returning, after all, they worked before, so someone must know where to look for the problem.

Jackson5:
Hi Umberto,
I'm having the same problem as the topic starter.
This evening I started the FSDT Live Update on my system. It was a long update because I hadn't done it in a while.
After it finished, I started P3Dv5.4 and tested a few things.
Unfortunately, the GPU wouldn't load, even though the menu indicated "GPU is arriving." Immediately afterward, I requested catering, and that went well.
In the log, I see mention about catering, but nothing about the GPU. I requested the GPU again, but unfortunately, still nothing.
So something is wrong somewhere, either with me or with the update.
I should mention that before updating there were no problems at all.
Could you see if there's a solution?
Thanks in advance,
Jaap
