Couatl.exe Unresponsive after Landing
« on: July 12, 2025, 07:36:51 pm »
MSFS2024 GSX 3.5.8 with PMDG B77W KDEN-KIAH.  Used GSX for pushback at Denver, then after two hour flight and landing at KIAH when i attempted to request Gate with GSX it suck on the loading stuff screen.  I've seen this before, so when I restarted couatl.exe I was surprised to not have GSX respond.  I then attempted to exit couatl.exe using the icon in the task bar hidden icons (Windows 11) but no response.  I then used Process Explorer to kill couatl.exe, and now after using your couatl_boot.exe the GSX finally responded and I proceed to pick my gate and use the marshaling without further drama.  The error log contains nothing, it simply goes from the B77W session directly into loading my B77L. Control Panel Problem Reports contains the following signature:

Sometimes Simconnect simply stops during a long flight, causing the program to be unresponsive, because it's not receiving any data from the sim. Usually a restart fixes it.

Note that, for the auto-restarter to work, it requires the program would QUIT/CRASH, since there's no way for the auto-restarter to detect it's just "waiting" data from the sim that doesn't arrive because Simconnect is stuck. And, the auto-restarter is not immediate: it waits for 1 minute *after* the couatl.exe quits or crashed before restarting it. And if you select "Exit" from the tray-bar icon menu, it won't auto-restart anymore for that sim session.
